L´Union is an ongoing development aiming to regenerate the city into the sustainable pilot project of Lille Metropolis –France. This master thesis is developing further specific sustainable perspectives, by exploring a democratic design, and by searching benefiting natural features in urban places. Theoretical approaches leads to reshape the ongoing master plan according to how nature can benefit to human life. Further researches explore what a green infrastructure and local food production can provide to the city. The alternative proposal is creating a natURban, where nature and urban environment are integrated to be interdependent and interacting at all scales. L´Union is built between users and nature: everyone has access to nature. The place is made equitable through democratic design balancing a living neighborhood community, with an economical center and a metropolitan urban park. NatURban wants to be a step forwards opening for opportunities. Supervisor: Barbara Rubino
