Tips For Presenting• Be Prepared

– Prepare and practice your presentation

• Establish Rapport Immediately with Students– Show keen interest in who they are

– Ask opening questions and wait for answers

“Look around the classroom – what was made by an engineer?”

“What are some of your favorite things to do?”

“How many of you have ever… done – seen -- thought about -- wondered about…?”

Tips For Presenting• Check In Often With Students

– A quick check-in can be as simple as asking for a

‘thumbs up or thumbs down’ to show if they get it.

• Involve and Engage Students Continually– Don’t be a talking head

– Give every student something to do

– Break the class up into teams and make it a competition

– Have a prize for the winning team
