What is a narrative?

A narrative is a text that tells a

story and, in doing so, ENTERTAIN

or AMUSE the reader.

To provide entertainment

and to make the audience think

about an issue, teach them a

lesson, or excite their emotions.

Examples of narrative texts include:

Fables

Folk tales

Legends

1. Orientation

It tells about : the story setting; the time when the story happens ;and the main characters of the story.

2. Complication

It includes situations , activities, or events that lead the climax orcomplication problem happens among the characters.

3. Resolution

The complication or problem is solved here. It shows the end of thestory, usually a happy ending.

Once upon a time, there

was a girl named Beauty.

She lived with her father

and her sisters in a small

the Beast.

One day, through the Beast’s magic

mirror, Beauty saw that her father

was sick. The Beast allowed her to

go home.

Her father was happy to see her.

One night, Beauty had a dream.

was sick.

Beauty hurried back and saw the

Beast dying.

She began to cry. Tears fell onto the

Beast. Suddenly, the Beast changed

into handsome prince. Beauty and

the Beast got married and lived

happily ever after.
