My Visit to the United Arab EmiratesMarch 13 – 17, 2006

The United Arab Emirates is a modern country with population of 2.56 million people; 1.61 million are foreigners and 0.95 million are natives.

Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the UAE.

Before discovering oil fields, natives were very poor. Their main jobs are trading, fishing, crafting.

Another major city in the UAE is Dubai.

Burj al Arab in Dubai is one of the World’s best hotels. The cost of stay in this seven star hotel is more than $1,200 a night. The cost to

tour the hotel is $100.

Things that sound funny: The name of this supermarket is the Emirates supermarket. I entered

the market and I found it is a very tiny place to shop.
