Why I want to be a Marine Biologist

• I picked this career because I love animals. As well as studying how they act.

• I don’t want to be a veterinarian, but I want to work with animals.

• I will love being able to study animals, and possibly go out in the sea.

Job Description

• A usual day in marine biology is spent in a laboratory, writing results, and examining research results, which includes usually a forty hour work week, but more dedicated marine biologists put in more time.

Education or Training

• You cannot get this job directly out of high school, it requires at least a masters degree, but a doctorate in marine biology is recommended.

• I plan on going to the University of South Alabama.

• It requires no training.

Salary

• The average salary in the United States is $72,700.

• I plan on working in Alabama where the average salary is $63,130.

Job Outlook

• The outlook is low, it has an increase of six percent from 2010 to 2020.

• The job growth is positive.• It will not be too hard to find a job
