WORKING PLATFORMSWorking platforms allow a quick, safe and easy access to the relevant workplace at side or on the roof of
the train by the staff. By moving the working platform close to the train the working risks are minimized.
ROOF WORKING PLATFORMSThe design of the roof working platform allows a
safe entering of the rail car roof alongside the whole
rail car length. The roof working platform will be
automatically moved gapless to the train.
FRONT WORKING PLATFORMSFor maintenance work at the front/nose of rail cars.
Functionality and working safeness define the designSIDE WORKING PLATFORMS SIDE WORKING PLATFORM

UNDERFLOOR LIFTING SYSTEMS for lifting / lowering trains for maintenance, repair and replacement of wheelsets, bogies and components.
The initial position of the Underfloor Lifting System is at "Zero" level (T.O.R.) which allows the unobstructed
use and passing of the main working level.
CANTILEVER DESIGNWith this kind of lifting system the bogies to be
replaced can be moved out and in beneath the
whole lifted rail car (train). This is especially
interesting for workshops with space constraints
COLUMN DESIGNThis kind of lifting system allows the replacement of
bogies and components directly behind the lifting
system.

DESCRIPTION OF COMPONENTS
ROOF WORKING PLATFORM (RWP) WITH TRAIN DRIVER CATWALK (TDC)
Supporting Structure welded steel construction hinged from the existing supporting structure of the
building
Platform structure hot dipped zinc coated corrugated steel
Side railing On each RWP, side rails are installed in the longitudinal direction (track direction)
for the safety of the working personnel
Movable Fall Down The Fall Down Protection at the front and rear of the RWP is movable in
Protection at front and longitudinal direction
Rear of RAP
Drive Unit It consists of a gear brake motor with drive shaft, pinion and toothed rack. The
ends of the drive shaft are additionally supported by bearings.
Stair cases The RWP is reachable via a staircase placed directly at the side of the columns
of the building structure.
Crane A crane with a capacity of two (2) metric tons including crane runway will be
provided
Supporting Structure welded steel beams with head and
foot plates..
Stairs, Emergency Exits Stairs, made of steel, are provided on
both ends of the pits for entry or exit.
These stairs are designed from floor
level (-0,0 mm) down to the mid
walkways (-1.750 mm).
One stair case to be installed on the
length of the elevated track of 70 m.

ELEVATED TRACKS WITH RAIL BRIDGES
Allow a quick change of wheelsets both with and without gear. The transport pallets support in an optimal
way the removal and installation. The change of underfloor components is also possible with great efficiency

WHEELSET CHANGER IN ELEVATED RAIL TRACKS WITH BRIDGES
A combination of wheelset changing system, low-floor lifting truck, body stands and changing cassettes in
the elevated track in connection with bridge elements. This is characterized by a very quick and space-
saving change of complete wheelsets
MOVABLE PLATFORMSAre an integral part of repair workshops in the heavy repair
of wagons and locomotives as well as in long-term
overhaul.

ELECTRIC COMPONENTS
DESCRIPTION OF ELECTRICAL CONTROL SYSTEMThe control system of the RWP will be activated by a key switch. The RWP system will be interlocked with the
existing security system of the workshop including interlock to existing Overhead Catenary System (OCS). The
telescopic platforms elements move out and in simultaneously. The end positions of the telescopic platforms
are controlled by limit switches and interlocked with the access entrance doors. The telescopic platforms
stop when a connecting block is activated or the telescopic platforms reach the limit switch.
Telescopic platforms touching the train will retract slightly for protection of the connecting blocks.
DESCRIPTION OF KEY EXCHANGE SYSTEMInterlocking with the workshop security system will be achieved by a Key Exchange System.
Only when theOCS is switched off, the grounding key can be removed from the related control cabinet of
the OCS. This key is the plugged into the key exchange system at the control cabinet of the RWP. The RWP
can only be operated when the grounding key is plugged in and turned.

TYPICAL SECTION OF GYASPUR DEPOT
SKETCH DEPICTING MPWS
Comparison between traditional design and the latest
technology advented design lies in the fact of platforms
being moving and other related easements. Besides use
of material has differed.
