In 2007, Central Community College received a 2.1 million dollar grant to educate and
train students and incumbent workers to fill high-skill, high-demand jobs in the advanced
manufacturing industry.
Central Community College has 3 campuses (Hastings, Grand Island,
& Columbus) that serves a 25-county area in central Nebraska—
approximately 14,000 square miles with a population of more
than 300,000.

Improvements
$600,000 worth of new equipment including, HAAS VF1, VF2 CNC Mills & Lathes, 5-axis CNC Wire EDM, 4-axis CNC Sinker EDM, & CNC Classroom Simulators were purchased to create Nebraska’s State of the Art Advanced Manufacturing Design Technology Lab.

Created the “Midwest Center for Plastics & Design” on the Hastings Campus 2 Injection Molding Presses were
donated to the Advanced Manufacturing Design Technology (AMDT) by a manufacturing business partner
