»Modernizing entrepreneurial education: new concepts and methods«
Zagreb, April 2014
Abstract
2
"Social evolution is showing us some interesting patterns in the behaviour of our society. It seems that we have in some ways trapped ourselves within the structures that we created. Throughout the brief history
of the educational systems typical of our time, we have encouraged the development of competences in people that
best serve the needs of the structures of the current paradigm in
our culture and not the people. It seems that we have been trained and educated to improve technology, processes and organizations as our primary goal, and not the well-being of people nor of the animals, plants or the planet itself. In this
article we point out some indicators that are encouraging us to seenew patterns emerging that relate to our individual and collective consciousness. In the paper we also share some practical examples that
present different approaches to learning. We can sense changes at
many leverage points in our society. For example, at the widest level in our ways of organising, ways of learning, ways of understanding, ways of being and ways of doing. We argue that these changes are often provoked by problems and
opportunities of an emerging “innovation based” thinking, and by the higher
levels of collective and individual consciousness. The paper presents “systemic thinking” as
one of the key elements when searching for more effective and sustainable new solutions. It also presents a possible
scenario at the higher education level in a connection with the commercial world as viewed by the Challenge:Future global youth, by the autho’rs experiences from the field (for example corporate environments and local communities) and by the experiences gained from using innovative approaches in teaching).”

Evolution is the change in the inherited characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level of biological organization, including species, individual organisms and molecules such as DNA and proteins. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution, June 2013
Involution occurs when something turns in upon itself. Involution (medicine), the shrinking of an organ (such as the uterus after pregnancy)Involution (philosophy), a "turning in" on one's selfInvolution (esoterism), several notions of a counterpart to evolution
Involution (Meher Baba), the inner path of the human soul to the selfInvolution algebra, a *-algebra: an algebra equipped with an involution Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Involution, June 2013

Civilization is a society with a high level of cultural and technological development and
specifically a society that has agriculture and a city or territorial state. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization , July 2013
Societal awareness of values that are fundamental, common elements of everything that there is; to go beyond technology and to connect ordinary and non-ordinary reality together in a unity of one. Enough reasons for a new civilization to emerge in our life time. This
time, from a global conscious.

Systems thinking is the process of understanding how things, regarded as systems,
influence one another within a whole. Systems thinking
has been defined as an approach to problem solving, by viewing "problems" as parts of an overall system, rather than reacting to specific part,
outcomes or events and potentially contributing to further development of unintended consequences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_thinking, Maj 2013

In ecology, sustainability is how biological
systems endure and remain diverse and productive.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainability , 20.2.2014
Sustainable development is an organizing principle for human life on a finite planet. It posits a desirable future state for human societies in which living conditions and resource-use meet human needs without undermining the sustainability of natural systems
and the environment, so that future generations may also have their needs met.Sustainable development ties together concern for the carrying capacity of natural systemswith the social and economic challenges faced by humanity.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_development , 20.2.2014

Social responsibility is an ethical theorythat an entity, be it an organization or individual, has an
obligation to act to the benefit society at large. Social responsibility is a duty every individual has to perform
so as to maintain a balance between the economy and the ecosystems. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_responsibility, 28.1.2014
Social entrepreneurship is the process of pursuing innovative solutions to social problems. More specifically, social entrepreneurs adopt a mission to create and sustain social value. They pursue opportunities to serve this mission, while continuously adapting and learning. They
draw upon appropriate thinking in both the business and nonprofit worlds and
operate in all kinds of organizations: large and small; new and old; religious and secular; nonprofit, for-profit, and hybrid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_entrepreneurship, 28.1.2014

The Challenge:Future Youth proposals
C:F is a global platform for youth empowerment. The most recent annual project: The Future of Work They managed to engage 1.360 teams of students from 106 countries, it received 700.000 page views and the community benefited from a record-high participation in the voting process with 22.000 votes. All in less than four months!
Dilemmas and challenges-Degrees no longer ensures employment.-Decline in student attention span and lack of engaging teaching methods.-Increase in college expenses, job-education mismatch and unemployment.-The specializing vs generalizing debate.-Increased student confusion and slacking due to lack of physical presence and guidance from teachers.-Risky to specialise in a dynamic economy.-The online education lessens are lacking human interaction.-Lack of standardised duration for high school may cause slower student turnover.

» Focus on methodologies:gamification«
Zagreb, March 2014

E-learning (or eLearning) refers to the use of electronic media and information and
communication technologies (ICT) in education. E-learning is broadly inclusive of all forms of educational technology in learning and teaching. E-learning is inclusive of, and is broadly synonymous with multimedia learning, technology-enhanced learning (TEL), computer-based instruction (CBI), computer-based training (CBT), computer-assisted instruction or computer-aided instruction (CAI), internet-based training (IBT), web-based training (WBT), online education, virtual education, virtual learning environments (VLE) (which are also called learning platforms), m-learning, and digital educational collaboration.

32
Gamification is the use of game thinking and
game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems.[1][2][3] Gamification is used in applications and processes to improve user engagement, return on investment, data quality, timeliness, and learning.

The game concept
The basic qualities of any game, worth playing, are: - a game is played voluntarily, - it has rules that players accept (and agree upon), - it often improves player’s skill at achieving some (real-life) goal, - it shoul be fun and rewarding –possibly with a status and/or monetary gain.

In just 10 days, players (over 240.000) have solved an issue that the scientist couldn't crack in 15 years!1•http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXyCcnUXzEE ) gamifies creation of meals while it de-junks fast food!•FirmaKids(http://www.firmakids.com/en/ ) gamifies the works of a company and explains the concept of running a business. So far, and to the knowledge of this author, the first and only Slovenian “gamification” example.
