ChairmanKarmenu Vella

Karmenu Vella, an architect by profession is since 1976 a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Malta andcurrently shadow finance minister for the Opposition and consultant to the General Workers Union. His previous posts

included Minister for Tourism, Minister for Industry, Minister for Public Works, and Executive Chairman of CorinthiaHotels International.

Michael Abele

Michael Abele following completion ofstudies in his native Germany moved toMalta in 1987 and joined Mondial

Holidays – a leading travel agencyestablished in 1947. Occupied variouscommercial roles to end up GeneralManager in 2005. Recently joinedOrange Travel Group and occupies the

post of Group Commercial Director.

Joe Cappello

Joe Cappello graduatedfrom the University ofMalta as an economist in

1974. Joined Air Maltain 1976 and spent thenext 35 years mostly inthe company’scommercial field including

General Manager UK,and Chief CommercialOfficer. Later he wasappointed ChiefOperating Officer, and

CEO for the entire AirMalta Group during thelast 5 years. For severalyears sat on the board ofdirectors of the Malta

Tourism Authority.

Martin Degiorgio

Martin Degiorgio upon completion ofstudies joined Mondial Holidays, thethen 40-year-old family business andtransformed it into a leading outbound

travel agency. Joined Orange in 2011upon the merger of Mondial with theoutbound business of the SMS Group.Currently occupies the position of

Group Managing Director.

Kevin Farrugia

Kevin Farrugia is acertified publicaccountant, a member of

the Association ofChartered CertifiedAccountants and of theMalta Institute ofAccountants. He

previously held variousposts at the CorinthiaGroup of Hotels, GasanGroup, and Alf. Mizzi &Sons Group. His current

positions at OrangeTravel Group are those

of Group Director ofFinance as well as officialCompany Secretary.

Samuel Mifsud

Samuel Mifsud, also known as Sam,

joined the SMS Group, the familybusiness upon completing his studies inthe UK and Switzerland. Occupiedvarious posts within the Group andcurrently Managing Director of theTravel & Tourism Divisions. WasChairman and for a while ExecutiveChairman of the Malta TourismAuthority between 2006 and 2009.Vice-President of Sheffied United FC.

Simon Mifsud

Simon Mifsud graduatedin Law in 1991 andsubsequently Masters inLaw in 1992. He was

called to the Bar ofEngland and Wales in1992 and following thisjoined the SMS Group,the family business thatwas established in 1950.He has occupied variousposts within the Groupand currently ManagingDirector of the Logistics,Insurance and Corporate

Services Divisions.
