Mingu International Trading Sdn. Bhd 1.0 INTRODUCTION
Mingu International Trading Sdn Bhd history was started from a small scale hardware construction
material dealer in the year 1973 with the nam Emico Enterprise Sdn Bhd which was situates in
Bachang, Malacca in Malaysia. Their main business was basically to sell as well as distribute
construction materials and also Nippon Paint. Since their business was developing, they decided that
they would need to offer a wider range of products to their customers. They relocated their business
warehouses to Malim Jaya and also Bukit Rambai which was an industrial area. After that, Mingu
International Trading was formed in 2005. (Bhd, 2012)
Their main scope of business is to manufacture and supply corrugated sheets for the brands such as
LION KING, MPI branded PVC pipes and also ECONDEK & SUNDEK for purpose of metal
roofing. They also traded Galvanised Steel Coil (GI), prepainted galvanised steel coil (PPGI) and
overall GI and EG materials such as fibre glass woo, steel bar, plywood, wire mesh, paint and also
other building materials. They also provided services such as recoiling, slitting and shearing. They
also produced and supply ridge capping, wall flashing and purlin. (Bhd, 2012)
The main idea of their company is “Continuous Business Creativity & Innovation” and they also
aim to perform good deeds to give back to the society who are in need. This is how they impose their
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in their company. This will strengthen the relationship among
employees and also improve the life of their families and also the society around them. Their vision is
one stop service, from roofing to footing system in Malaysia. They extended their horizon to Brunei,
Burma, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and also Vietnam.
Their bigger vision is to become a respected player in the building & construction materials globally.

2.0 BODY CONTENT2.1 Company yet to Install HRIS System:
This company Mingu International Sdn. Bhd. Has no HRIS or any human resource body
there for we have come out with some suggestion that will turn the tide of this company’s
working environment.
We have come out with three possible best solutions for the company in order to maximize its
productivity level. (Mr. Daren Chan, 2014)
2.2 SUGGESTED VENDOR 1: People-Track HR Software
The first vendor that we suggest to Mingu International Trading Sdn Bhd is from the company
People Track. The product name is People-Track HR Software. This software is easier as it organizes
employee data, giving insights, and also streamlining of Human Resource processes. The functions
and modules of the software are as follows. It includes personnel management which is the hub for
human resource information. With this, it will be easier for Mingu International to manage the records
of all their current and past employees. Next, it also has safety management. This will track incidents
and accidents, claims all the details and also print out the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)
reports. It also has COBRA Administration which track COBRA recipients and payment history. It
also includes Applicant Management which allows the management to track their application through
the entire process of hiring and also rejecting. Next, Time & Attendance. This helps to manage and
track employees time-off. It sets up an unlimited number of accrual accounts. (Software, Products:

Not only that, it also had modules such as Training Administration. This allows the company to set
up training programs, track resources, instructors, and who attends and also even set pre-requisites.
The software also includes Performance Management. This can help Mingu International to manage
the details of past performance reviews, and store all supporting details. Next, it also includes
Compensation Management which allows the company to keep track of compensation history, levels
and other pay like bonuses. It also has benefit administration which manage different benefit plans
and levels including future enrolment. Finally, it has position control module. This is an integrated

professionals at small and medium companies. It includes everything in LT plus more robust tracking,
reporting, process automation and auditing. It includes 200+ HR report templates and is
recommended for 50-1000 employees with 10 attachments per record and unlimited HR users with a
SQK database. The final price range is the Strategic. It is $39.95 per employee and also a one-time
cost. Its strategic features take you to a high level of customization to more fully and accurately
streamline HR processes. It has everything in Essentials plus an own fully customizable workflows
with custom screens and processes. It has custom report calculations using derived fields. It is
recommended for 100-5000 employees with unlimited attachments and unlimited HR users with a

The one unique and interesting functionality that surprised me is the Position Management
functionality. It combines a complete job description module with the ability to post and track open
job requisitions. This ensures that open positions and requirements are defined according to ADA
standards. This function integrates with Applicant Tracking to ensure that all candidates are screened
against the detailed requirements of the position applied for.
It includes a fully integrated personnel management module, fully integrated with applicant tracking
module, tracks past and present incumbents, provides a free-from job description, ADA compliant
tracking, open requisitions when positions are available, single click to archive prior requisitons,
tracks prior requisitions and also enter activities and costs in batches. (Software, Features: People
Trak, 2014) This software would be best for Mingu International Trading as it will help organize all
the employees and allocate them to their rightful jobs according to the skills that they possess. It will
also help fill in vacancies and provide full details of it. Next, it can help the company compensate
employees in a better manner and the company will have a better safety environment. Its training
modules will also help provide better skilled employees for the job to be carried out in a more
efficient manner. All the details from all departments will be easily stored and managed for current
and future uses. In our opinion, this software is perfect to support Mingu International Trading Sdn
Bhd.

Finally, the following is the summary of customer reviews outlining the strengths and weaknesses
of this product. It has been said that it is the best software purchased. It is also said that the software is
user friendly and can be easily customized to fit their needs and reports can be attained from any
fields. It is also said to be cost effective compared to other HRIS systems. The custom table building
features, along with it’s easy to generate and limitless report builder gives it a significant edge over its
competitors. There seem to be no negative comments on this software and we think it would be the

2.3. SUGGESTED VENDOR 2: Orisoft
The second suggestion that we would like to deliver for Human Resource Information
Systems vendor is Orisoft. The reason why we chose Orisoft as the second HRIS vendor for
Mingu International Sdn. Bhd. is because, at Mingu the movement and flow of employee
working information system and its way of arranging is not systemized and there are a big
chance that such structured may fall like a building without the right foundation. Orisoft is a
Malaysian based company which understand SME Company like Mingu International and
offers variety of services to develop the such company, example of services Human Resource
Management System, Time Management System, Payroll System and Employee Self
Service.
Orisoft main is SME like Mingu International to operate efficiently in the area of people
management so that organizations can focus on what they do best: Growing their brands
The main product that I would like to focus from orisoft is the payroll system, human capital
management system and employee self-service system.
For the payroll system currently Mingu international Sdn. Bhd. going through old process
system which is getting signature from the boss of the company who also issue checks for
both Mingu international and Emico Sdn. Bhd. by doing this time and man power and also
the hassel that the employee of the accounting and payroll department will face a lot of
problem and may end up with diplomatic issue such as different pay the confidentiality of
payment of each and every employee and the cost of issuing each check whom the company
need to bare it.

By having the payroll system of orisoft the amount of time and money can be saved by just
using online system with the help of the software which will calculate the number of working
days, leaves, bonus, allowance and etc.

The next will be the human resource management system. Since the company is growing
Mingu international need to consider having a more efficiency and effectiveness system.
Orisoft provides unified HCM which means will organize things much better. The current
system is the boss will be the manager and they having a family base system which means
there is no management system to counter or to monitor the employee movement. If the
company deciding to go at large it should consider to take over and change the culture of the
company in order to be more effective and able to reduce task on one employee to maximized
the productivity. (Orisoft, 2014)

The last from orisoft I like to suggest is the employee self-service. This system will make
sure if there is and important information will reach the employee faster. It’s more like how
MMU reach its students by bulletin board and students can check attendance and able to send
complain. It’s the same just the twist of having it in a working environment form. By this
employees will know about the company progress and able to post about new training
program and the ability make the work force to move to a better form.
The current system do not include this and since nowadays people using the smartphone for
so many things with so many function this system will motivate employee to work to be
better themselves and able to compare other employee to be better and will have a healthy
competition.

2.4. SUGGESTED VENDOR 3 : SimpleHR
The third suggested Human Resource Information Systems vendors would be SimpleHR.
SimpleHR is an affordable human resource software for small to medium – based businesses
in which located in Destin, Florida where it professionally a licensed company with the State
of Florida Board of Employee Leasing (EL 0000202). It basically supports all kind of
common Human Resources tasks such as vacation, attendance and performance reviews.
Besides, based on the employee management system, it simplifies the workflow, increase the
efficiency as well as it is an essential tool in Human Resources workday. SimpleHR gives a
payroll administration and protection for their clients throughout the benefits provided. This
shows that they aim to maintain the highest level of standard in all matters they consume in.
Based on the quality policy, it examines that SimpleHR is a well dedicated company where
they provide quality services in which meets a continuing and initial needs and expectations
of their clients as well as their employees. This means that the company be certain to get their
clients and employees with an ongoing prosperity and success throughout the continuous
improvement. On the other hand, being as a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), the
company equip with employee management solution for those excessive business owners
who which to spend more time upon their core business besides lesser time onto the
obligation of employer. Professional Employer Organization (PEO) is basically outsource

explain the key areas of the product.
Employees’ module obtains the Employees’ Personal Information that would help the
company to contact for any emergency purpose. Photography is to know the identity
of every individual who been hired in SimpleHR in order to be recognized. Under the
module also implement employment equity, military service, dependents, service
history, unions and attendance in order to take note on the employee’s leaves. Also it
consists of warnings/grievances for the employees to know their work schedules in
terms of performance reviews, those who are under probation periods and birthday
reminders.
Pay module refers to the pay that serves for examining bonuses and deductions,
benefits, vacation and leave and banking and finance.
Training module and the jobs module is the job descriptions and specifications of the
employees – education, fields and skills they require as well as awards that are being
received based on the employee’s performance.
Safety module refers to the protection in terms of incidents and accidents occurs to the
employees, medical and disability in which help to protect the employees from the
financial risks inherent in their daily life. Besides, security module is based on the

attendance of the hired employees. All need to do is that the employee just need to type on
his/her data into the calculator provided and he/she can look on how the company pays for
itself. This is basically to enhance the company on how it could benefits and save the costs.
However, it reflects for the potential direct value of lost working hours besides, it does not
include such indirect costs as overtime costs, benefits or reduced productivity. So, as a result,
it would be an easy and quicker way for Mingu International Company to look after their pay
system as well on how they are being paid.

One of the functionality used in SimpleHR that inspired me would be the Pay module. This is
because as pay module are designed to achieve certain objectives which includes efficiency,
fairness, ethics and compliance. In terms of the efficiency, it specifically improves the
performance, increases qualities and controls all kinds of labor costs. Based on Mingu
International Trading Sdn Bhd objectives, the company believes in the Spirit of FAMILY in
which they ensure a fair treatment and recognize onto their employees as their own family.
This is to make sure that the organization cares about how its services and results are
achieved in order to keep a high reputation.
Based on the review of SimpleHR product from the customers, is that they feel good on the
way the employees being treated. Besides, the use of employee’s data is well organized and
stored where the employees need not to be worried if their personal details being spread or
seen by others since it’s been protected safely into a safer worksheet. However, it still need to
be encouraged for the company to store a password at least so that the information stored is
more secured and placed safer.

Recommendation to the Company
We would like to recommend the orisoft as the company main choice due to it’s a Malaysian
based company and able to understand the company flow how and what is need to be done
for Miggu International Sdn. Bhd.
Operation is an essential daily component of any organization in the world. From internal
management to external engagement, there is a need for the right technology solutions that
can ensure the operation of a business runs smoothly every hour of the day. With this in mind
we can say that orisoft provide the right tool for the right SME company.
Not only has that but by further studies showed that the cost also plays a major part. Since the
simple HR and People-Track HR software is American base software and the system make it
more suitable for them the cost vice is not an effective in the sense of SME Company like
Mingu international trading Sdn. Bhd. When it comes to cost, SME Company can’t bare such
a big amount even though it’s for the betterment of the company itself.
Whereas orisoft is a Malaysian base company and able to give a reasonable price and able to
guide the company throughout the whole process, as a Malaysian base company we are not
the “plug and play” type we need to be hands on base guide and through that we need human
assistance to lead us the right way till we fully grasp the technology.
Orisoft can do that compare to the rest two. Orisoft will guide and able to implement the right
training and develop the personal internally and externally. In this way the company won’t
feel lost or feel vulnerable towards the system when it’s being implemented.

Conclusion
By going through all this, as we can conclude the combination of people trach HR software
and orisoft and also a bit of simple HR will provide much better solution. People track HR
will able to track the movement of and employee and able to analyzed the amount of time
spend on a task by and employee and simple HR is consider safer and its concern of the
safety of the employee. This two is most important for a company to grow and also a growing
company as well.
As we can say orisoft can be customized to the needs and wants of the employee compare to
the rest of the two suggestion. The 1st and the 3rd suggestion is more to of the shelf type of
HRIS which will be expensive compare to orisoft and not very effective since it is a
standardized and unable to modified according to the needs and wants of the employer.
