A sociologist and a journalist pair up to examine inequality in Memphis. At the class’ foundation are the writings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students will also read contemporary sociological studies and news articles on inequality in families, schools, and neighborhoods. Combining research perspectives of journalism and sociology, students will create multimedia projects on inequality and share them through blogs, social media, and class presentations.
