Objectives

Enhancing and strengthening the preparedness to common health threatsand biosafety risks by the creation of a laboratories network

(human virology, animal virology, medical entomology) with public health institutions’ support

• Create a framework for collaboration to improve surveillance and monitoring of

emerging vector borne viral diseases

• Provide training for public health experts (including laboratories)

• Strengthen intersectoral collaboration

• Improve integrated surveillance (animal, human, entomological)

• Provide tools for awareness, risk assessment, monitoring and control of the

different emerging viruses (transmission, spread, human impact…)

Specific objectives

General objective

Methodology

Workshops (lab+field) (10) Networking: 14 meetings

Site visits

Molecular and serological diagnostic tools for the detection of arboviruses

Capacity building in mosquito vectors of arboviruses

Main activities

Vector-borne viruses risk assessment and integrated surveillance

339 participants

397 hours theoretical and practical training
