St. Albert parishioners are remarkably
generous. Sharing a portion of our
income with the Church is a sign that
everything belongs to God and we
dedicate our “first fruits” to the work
of the Kingdom of Christ. Thank you
so much for your faith and generosity.
Prayer List
The following names are additions to
the prayer list this week. Please pray
for those sick in our parish.

A prayer list is published on the first
and third Sunday of the month.
Dear St. Albert Family, We are celebrating the Fourth Sunday of Easter, "Good
Shepherd Sunday" on which we typically preach about the role of the
ordained ministers of the church and certainly the Pastoral Ministry of
the parish. The unusual circumstance of COVID 19 has been a big
challenge for parish life and a pretty steep learning curve for our par-
ish priests and ministers. So many of the faithful of St. Albert have
adapted to our on-line efforts of prayer and teaching, and they have
communicated to us at the parish, their gratitude for our efforts at this
time. As a pastor, I have to express my gratitude to our great parish-
ioners for all of your support in prayer, in practice, and in generosity.
We are working mightily to prepare for the return of this community
to public worship, when it comes.
On Tuesday of this past week the bishops of Ohio have ex-
tended the suspension of public masses until at least May 29, 2020.
We are making preparations for an anticipated return to masses after
that date.
The other ministries of the parish continue to help the needy
and those unsettled by the coronavirus pandemic. We hosted a drive-
through Community Meal last Sunday, serving over 200 carry out din-
ners. Every Friday afternoon, our Feeding the Hungry Ministry has
been preparing and delivering 125 hot meals to the homebound and
elderly of the parish. Members of the office and school staff have
begun a "Census Update Project" to help our parishioners be in-
formed about the re-opening of the parish, our new Weekend Mass
Schedule, and to update our information for the parish staff us-
es. We are taking the opportunity to build the Kingdom of God in
our circumstances.
Fr. Joshua and I will be moving into the new priest residence
on Monday, May 4th. I am so grateful to Chiuchiarelli Builders, our
many parishioner-tradesmen, all the volunteers, and the generous do-
nors, to Building Faith Project who have made this first step in the
renewal of our parish possible.
Since the in-home schooling has been extended until the end
of the year, the renovations to the priests' garages has begun earlier
than anticipated. We are creating an expanded and separate music
classroom and practice rooms in those old garages. That will allow
the 6th grade classrooms to be re-located in what will now be a proper
intermediate (grades 4-5-6) level area on the second floor.
The southern half of the parish property continues to be re-
developed into a proper Storm Water Retention pond, a new two-way
central driveway, a safe/secured playground and bus traffic pat-
tern. All of this is in anticipation of the pouring of the foundation of
the New Parish Life Center in early summer.
Peace,

LETTER OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS TO THE FAITHFUL FOR THE MONTH OF MAY 2020
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The month of May is approaching, a time when the People of God express with particular intensity their love and devotion for the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is traditional in this month to pray the Rosary at home within the family. The re-strictions of the pandemic have made us come to appreciate all the more this “family” aspect, also from a spiritual point of view.
For this reason, I want to encourage everyone to re-discover the beauty of praying the Rosary at home in the month of May. This can be done either as a group or individ-ually; you can decide according to your own situations, mak-ing the most of both opportunities. The key to doing this is always simplicity, and it is easy also on the internet to find good models of prayers to follow.
I am also providing two prayers to Our Lady that you can recite at the end of the Rosary, and that I myself will pray in the month of May, in spiritual union with all of you. I in-clude them with this letter so that they are available to every-one.
Dear brothers and sisters, contemplating the face of Christ with the heart of Mary our Mother will make us even more united as a spiritual family and will help us overcome this time of trial. I keep all of you in my prayers, especially those suffering most greatly, and I ask you, please, to pray for me. I thank you, and with great affection I send you my blessing.
Rome, Saint John Lateran, 25 April 2020 Feast of Saint Mark the Evangelist
Pope Francis
First Prayer
O Mary, You shine continuously on our jour-ney as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the foot of the cross, were united with Jesus’ suffering, and persevered in your faith.
“Protectress of the Roman people”, you know our needs, and we know that you will provide, so that, as at Cana in Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us. For he took upon himself our suffer-ing, and burdened himself with our sorrows to bring us, through the cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.
We fly to your protection, O Holy Mother of God; Do not despise our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from every danger, O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.

Second Prayer
“We fly to your protection, O Holy Mother of God”.
In the present tragic situation, when the whole world is prey to suffering and anxiety, we fly to you, Mother of God and our Mother, and seek refuge under your protection.
Virgin Mary, turn your merciful eyes towards us amid this coro-navirus pandemic. Comfort those who are distraught and mourn their loved ones who have died, and at times are buried in a way that grieves them deeply. Be close to those who are concerned for their loved ones who are sick and who, in order to prevent the spread of the disease, cannot be close to them. Fill with hope those who are troubled by the uncertainty of the future and the conse-quences for the economy and employment.
Mother of God and our Mother, pray for us to God, the Father of mercies, that this great suffering may end and that hope and peace may dawn anew. Plead with your divine Son, as you did at Cana, so that the families of the sick and the victims be comforted, and their hearts be opened to confidence and trust.
Protect those doctors, nurses, health workers and volunteers who are on the frontline of this emergency, and are risking their lives to save others. Support their heroic effort and grant them strength, generosity and continued health.
Be close to those who assist the sick night and day, and to priests who, in their pastoral concern and fidelity to the Gospel, are try-ing to help and support everyone.
Blessed Virgin, illumine the minds of men and women engaged in scientific research, that they may find effective solutions to over-come this virus.
Support national leaders, that with wisdom, solicitude and gener-osity they may come to the aid of those lacking the basic necessi-ties of life and may devise social and economic solutions inspired by farsightedness and solidarity.
Mary Most Holy, stir our consciences, so that the enormous funds invested in developing and stockpiling arms will instead be spent on promoting effective research on how to prevent similar trage-dies from occurring in the future.
Beloved Mother, help us realize that we are all members of one great family and to recognize the bond that unites us, so that, in a spirit of fraternity and solidarity, we can help to alleviate count-less situations of poverty and need. Make us strong in faith, perse-vering in service, constant in prayer.
Mary, Consolation of the afflicted, embrace all your children in distress and pray that God will stretch out his all-powerful hand and free us from this terrible pandemic, so that life can serenely resume its normal course.
To you, who shine on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope, do we entrust ourselves, O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary. Amen

Youth Ministry Spotlight Updates
It has been awhile since I first announced with great sadness the
cancellation of all in-person youth ministry activities until further
notice. Thankfully, since then, I was able to work online with our
8th graders for a virtual Retreat Day 2020. Although it was differ-
ent than we all first envisioned, it was wonderful to see our stu-
dents lighting the way for each other during this storm.
Junior High Youth Ministry (JHYM):
Although our in-person meetings have been cancelled until further
notice, we zoom together every Thursday night at 7:30pm. Please
email ksrsen@saint-albert.org for the login. All 7th and 8th graders
are invited to attend!
High School Youth Ministry (HSYM):
Although our in-person meetings have been cancelled until further
notice, we zoom together every Tuesday night at 7:30pm. Please
email ksrsen@saint-albert.org for the login. All high schoolers are
invited to attend and we hope you will join us!
Finally, I am a phone call or an email away if you need me. Know
that I am praying for you every day and I want you to stay safe and
stay well. Remember to make good decisions
and as Matthew Kelly says, “Be the BEST ver-
sion of yourself!”

World Day of Prayer for
Vocations
The purpose of the World Day of
Prayer for Vocations is to publically
fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray
the Lord of the harvest to send laborers
into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). As
a climax to a prayer that is continually
offered throughout the Church, it af-
firms the primacy of faith and grace in
all that concerns vocations to the priest-
hood and to the consecrated
life. While appreciating all vocations,
the Church concentrates its attention
this day on vocations to the ordained ministries (priesthood and diaconate),
to the Religious life in all its forms
(male and female, contemplative and
apostolic), to societies of apostolic life,
to secular institutes in their diversity of
services and membership, and to the
missionary life, in the particular sense
of mission "ad gentes" .

Community Meal Drive Thru
The monthly Community Meal took on a new look utilizing a
drive thru meal and grocery pickup. We served 202 sloppy joe
meals (an after 4:00pm rush pushed us over 200), including 33
meals delivered. A generous donation from Ellen's Cookie
Cupboard provided a nice sweet treat. Great crew all around
made it happen! And the drive thru worked like a charm...

Fourth Sunday of Easter
Preparing for Next Sunday’s Mass Parish LinC Letter May 10, 2020 Fifth Sunday of Easter
Read the following Scripture passage paying attention to a word,
phrase, or idea that stands out to you:
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in
God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for
you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you
to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the
way.” Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said
to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me,
then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him,
“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long
a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show
us the Father’? Do you not believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The Father who dwells in
me is doing his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the
works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do
greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 15: 1,5
Step 1
Consider and Discuss these 3 Questions:
Considering your life today....
1. What in this reading comforted you?
2. What in this reading encouraged you?
3. What in this reading challenged you?
For further contemplation....
What conversion of mind, heart, and life is the Lord asking of me?
Step 2
conclude by praying our “Parish Communion Prayer”
O Communion of Love, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, embrace us as your children in this family of faith. Wel-
come us to a place at your table in the wedding feast of heaven. O Father of Mercy, forgive us as we forgive. Rec-
oncile us as one Body in Christ and make us instruments of your Peace. O Spirit of Fire and Light, send us as
your witnesses in daily life. Through our prayer, faith, and good works may we become welcoming doorways, in-
viting others to enter and encounter your Holy Communion of Love.
We make this prayer, Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and through Christ our Lord. Amen
Step 3
