For this project, I started off by creating a worksheet for my

classmates to complete to obtain the elements that I would be using

in pattern experiments. I started out using a very strict system of

pattern generation so that I could look at the differences in the

small details of the patterns. I then played with color and layout of

the elements within the pattern swatch.

This project is an exploration into different ways of rendering

flowers, specifically those around Tennessee. I have started by

creating illustrations of wildflowers in some of the different media

that I will be working in, such as a digitally (vector), permanent

marker in a realistic rendering and a more stylized rendering,

and watercolor.
