At MFC we place special emphasis to create an environment highly
conducive for building solid foundation of knowledge, communication

produce professionals well trained for the rigors of professional and
social life. Students have found MFC to be an effective launching

One major element of our academic activity is industry exposure for
the students of MFC. This helps the students to relate the contents of text
book to practical world. This also encourages them to effectively apply
their knowledge in Finance.
MFC is adorned with distinguished faculty members, visiting
faculty and dignitaries from various fields to provide individual guidance
and counseling through seminars and workshops. They generate
awareness in students regarding future career options available to them.

Over the years Master of finance and Control have carved a niche for
itself in the discipline of finance. The rigorous programmed
supplemented by a healthy blend of academic exposure and industry
interaction has created a brand synonymous with value generation.
The MFC program is aimed at to equip with pre-requisite
skills in financial planning, control and decision making to meet the
challenges of a dynamic financial environment. In a span of two
academic years comprising four terms, in depth knowledge of the
concept, theory and techniques in finance is imparted to students.
The MFC curriculum incorporates a variety of course
such as financial management, international finance, portfolio
management, etc.
The faculty, who has been the inspiration and the guiding
force behind the success of the course, has demonstrated ample
ability to create and nurture value among the students. The alumni
who have merited attention by occupying coveted position in the
industry; have been the torch bearers there by sustaining value.
Heralding a new era of symbiotic partners the Department of
Commerce invites participation from the industry to unlock
potential of MFC students with the belief that it would only

Aligarh Muslim University being a pioneering institute starting MFC since
1992. It has produced a large number of professionals who are serving the financial markets worldwide.
Master of Finance & Control (MFC) is a degree which is offered
to students who have completed 2 years of postgraduate course. This course mainly covers subjects like finance and
accounting. The course also has a super-specialization which the students can take
in the last semester. Master of Finance & Control (MFC) degree course includes the training

The Aligarh Muslim University is amongst the great
institutions of learning in India with a worldwide reputation. It
was founded by farsighted noble hearted educationist, jurist and a
philanthropist, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan .
He established the Mohemadan-Anglo Oriental College at
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1875. The college progressed and
with passage of time and university endeavors of its patrons
became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920.
Aligarh Muslim University being a Centre of life and
light produces students who are not only are intellectually equal
to the best of their fellow students in other part of the world, but
also live a noble life, love their country and are loyal to the

At MFC, we aim to prepare the business leaders of tomorrow. The
teaching methodology aims at imparting rigorous theoretical and
practical training to the students with a fine blend of classroom
lectures along with case studies, assignments, projects,
presentations, live projects and field visits.
Audio-visual aids are prime mode of commandment. Much emphasis
is laid upon social responsiveness and the utility of coordination and
competition, thereby giving rise to a collaborative leadership
pattern.
The prime focus is on multi-disciplinary and integrated problem
solving curriculum rather than the isolated delivery of individual
disciplines.

corresponds with the prospective
employers, arranges Pre-Placement
Talks and Personal Interviews on
campus and provides all the
facilities required by the visiting
companies.
Personality Development Team
This team org a n izes mock interviews,
Group discussions and power point
Presentations among the students to help
them improving their communication
skills and confidence level. The objective
of this team is to make the student
extrovert, presentable and develop a
persona with which they can positively
interact with the world outside.
News Letter Team
The newsletter of the department of
commerce is a novel initiative by the
students of MFC to enlighten the
students of the department of the
different activities organized in the
university. It is for the first time that the
department has its own newsletter which
is published fortnightly. This initiative
has been taken to provide an
encouragement and an opportunity to the
students by providing a platform to get
their idea published. The newsletter is a
mouth piece of the students which lets
them exercise their writing skills and lets
their views be heard.

Alumni Team The alumni have been a powerful asset of the department throughout the years and
have contributed to a great extent to the growth of the department. They are a
reflection of the image of the department. The team on its part strives to strengthen
the bonds of kinship of the alumni with the department by organizing activities in
various parts of India and by maintaining an extensive database.
Apart from the above teams we have a fully equipped seminar library where
all the books, leading national newspapers, journals and magazines are available, so
that the student remains intact with the world outside. We also have a computer
lab where 27 computers are there with all the latest software updated in them.
These activities are practically good at providing opportunities for
students to work in teams, to exercise leadership and to take the initiatives
themselves. These experiences make students more attractive to universities and to
potential employers.

Literary Club This club conducts and
manages “Literary Fest” in the department. The
competition held are Debate, Just a minute, Turn
coat, Quiz Competition, Essay writing, Creative
writing, etc. This society was successful in
bringing various debaters, writers and public
speakers into light H a reward.
Drama Club As an institution
Aligarh Muslim University has achieved
excellence in fields such as Dramatics also.
The drama club is an integral part of the
university. The club is a part of General
Education Centre. The clubs organizes
various dramas in the university auditorium and also participate in
various all India University Competition .
Horse Riding Club Aligarh Muslim University is the only
university in India which
provides the students an
opportunity to master the art
of horse riding, tent pegg ing,
show jumping, etc. The club
was established in 1889 and
since then the university
equestrian team bought in
many laurels for the
institution.

Ever since the first batch passed out in 1994, MFC graduates have
seized the opportunities provided by the liberalized economic scenario to
position themselves as specialists in different segments of the financial
sector such as Corporate finance, International finance, Financial services,
Investment banking, Equity research, Mutual fund, Treasury manage
through their feedback and Insurance management, portfolio management,
derivatives and real estate management.
The institute hence takes pride in carrying on its shoulder, a baggage of
alumni, who have accomplished great height in the corporate field. We
share a strong bond with all our students who have continuously enriched this
programme their feedback and industry experience. On a formal basis, this
is encouraged by the MFC alumni association through regular meets held in
Aligarh and Delhi.
