Dear Wonderful Wildcat Families,
What an exciting few weeks we have had at Osceola Lately! Thank
you so much to all of you who supported our 5th graders at the
Sonny’s Spirit Night last Monday. Last week our students got to
hear from author Mike Thaler who has published over 200
manuscripts and is the author of the “Black Lagoon” children’s book
series. On Friday afternoon your students had an excellent time
socializing and dancing at our 3rd annual Spring Social. Thank you
so much for sharing your children with us for a couple of additional
hours Friday afternoon. It was a joy to watch them having a good
time.
The past couple of weeks our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students
participated in practice FSA ELA and writing assessments. Many
teachers have commented on how hard their students worked to do
their very best on these practice assessments. I heard many reports
that our students were observed using the writing and testing
strategies that they have learned so they can best showcase the
knowledge they have worked so hard all year to learn. All of
Osceola’s Wildcats deserve a pat on the back for the diligent efforts
they displayed on this practice assessment. On Tuesday, the students
will take their last Math FSA practice assessment. Please be sure
your students get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast Tuesday
morning.
This week is full with excitement due to the Spring Scholastic Book
Fair happening in the Media Center. To celebrate reading and the
book Fair there are some dress up days:
Monday: Wear Your Pajamas
Tuesday: Attach a tale to your Dino-Mite outfit
Wednesday: Jurassic Park Day: Dress as a Park Ranger or
Paleontologist
Thursday: T-Shirt Thursday: Stomp, Chomp and Read – wear
a t-shirt with words on it
Friday: Flintstone Friday: Dress as your favorite Flintstone
Character. As we are nearing the end of the 3rd nine weeks of the school year,
let me remind you to finish the year with the same fervor with which
you began. Please remember to be checking your students backpack
for important papers and to be signing their agenda on a nightly basis.
If you have any concerns regarding your student’s progress or school
concerns, please contact your child’s teacher. I know they will be
happy to help ease any concerns you may have.
Enjoy the rest of the school year!
