More and more ethanol is being used to replace and augment the fossil fuels that power our cars and recently the first planes flew on fuel derived from sugar cane. A global market for ethanol is emerging, creating the opportunity to avoid negative economic, environmental and social side effects. This week the World Bio Markets 2014 takes place in Amsterdam. On 4th March, Solidaridad participates in a side event at the World Bio Markets 2014 organised by Netherlands Entreprise Agency. During this meeting Sven Sielhorst, International Programme Coordinator for the Solidaridad sugarcane programme will present the results of four years of work in the sugarcane industry in Brazil: Making an impact – from Brazilian cane cutter to European fuel tank.
