a cam plate and two locking solenoids.Each unit is controlled by our MSC10 E-100 Controller. This controller has been design-ed specifically by Magnetic for this appli-cation. Upon receiving a pulsed input, thecontroller releases the respective solenoidand allows the centre column to be turned120° by hand, the centre column thenlocks back into position. The turnstile isthen ready to receive additional inputs. Theoptions available, in the event of power failare: 'locked' or 'free wheel' in one or bothdirections.

Description

The MPT52/53 series of full height turn-stiles have been specifically developed tocontrol simultaneous bi-directional pede-strian control of two independent turnstileswhere limited space is available. The turn-stile has been designed as a modularsystem and can easily be assembled on siteby hand and without the need of heavylifting devices.

The turnstile consists of an outer cage sec-tion and two centre columns, each incor-porating a 3 x 120° offset 'U' bar configu-ration. The MUC Controllers and the torquepositioning drives are mounted on top ofthe cage and within a sheet metal enclosu-re. Additional space has also been madeavailable for the installation of access con-trol equipment.

The turnstile is designed to be installeddirectly to concrete surfaces, or in the caseof paved areas an optional foundationframe is available.

Housing

The turnstile consists of a left and righthand outer vertical bar section, a central 'U' bar section and two central rotatingcolumns, each incorporating a 3 x 120°offset 'U' bar configuration.

The control and drive mechanism are hous-ed within a folded sheet metal enclosurewhich is located above the central columns.As standard all sections are fully "hot dip"galvanised after fabrication and can also be

powder coated in RAL 7042 grey uponrequest. Optional and special RAL coloursand either 304 or 316 grade stainless steelconstruction are also available uponrequest.Access control devices such as card readerscan easily be fitted to the turnstile cage. Amounting plate fixed at each entry point onthe outer vertical bar sections of the turn-stile enables ease of installation of suchcontrol devices.

Technology

MPT52 motor driven

The MPT52 turnstile is operated by ourwell-known motor drive technology.The drive system incorporates our 3-phaseMagnetic Torque Motors and self lockingsystem which are controlled by our Ma-gnetic Universal Controllers (MUC). Therotation speed of the centre columns arepre-programmable and are compared with the actual speed.

The MUC Controllers in turn provide theoptimum power to frequency ratio to thetorque motors which assist the user in therotation of the centre columns. In the eventof power failure the centre columns areallowed to turn freely (standard option).An optional locking device to stop entryin one or both directions is available uponrequest.
