Murrinh Niyi th-niyi th 1. 'These words are stor ies ' , is the f i rs t in a series of four graded reading books in the Murr inh- patha language. They are to be used in conjunction with the Murrinh-patha primer series 'Murr inh Nganki ' . Murr inh Niy i th- niyith 1 covers materials taught in Murrinh Nganki 1.

Murrinh Niyi th-niyi th 1 was prepared by Chester and Lyn Street of the Summer Institute of Linguist ics, Austral ian Aborigines Branch, together with Theodora Darrnanthi Narndu. The i l lustrat ions were done by Peter Nganaye Cumaiyi,Guiseppe Nganthamurri Long, Frank Nur lur t Bunduck and Stan Yunum Ninnal.
