There is an abandoned Jewish cemetery in the heart of Budapest bordered with the Hungarian National Tombs Park . The exact address is 2. Salgotarjani st. Budapest H-1087. (Salgotarjani street has a dead end but there is a tram way (#37) and a stop.) Only two or three man visits to this cemetery in a month. The gate is always closed but there is a caretaker and some beast dog who live in the gate building of the cemetery.In spite of wild dogs the cemetery is always robbed out most of tombs are breaked out and opened. It seems people looking for treasure of the tombs but they can’t find. First burial ceremony was here in the year of 1850, the last was about 1950. Some well known and reach Hungarian Jew were buried here. Some example: Weiss Manfred, Hatvany-Deutch, Venetianer, Adolf Fenyes families. Some thomb were planned by famous Jewish arhitects for example: Bela Lajta, Imre Steindl, Alajos Hauszmann.Size of the area is about 300 x 400 m.You have to very carefull when walking in the cemetery because you could fall You have to very carefull when walking in the cemetery because you could fall down in an opened and deep tomb for good!down in an opened and deep tomb for good!Let’s see the pictures!

The mortuary building. About 20 years ago the middle part was covered by white majolica tiles but it was stolen. The roof was a big dome but it is breaked down and lost.
