Transcript of Lossless Editing in Audacity

How to set up Audacity open source editor for quasi-lossless sound editing?

1. Open Audacity 2. Ctrl + P (or go to Edit -> Preferences) 3. Quality 4. Set sampling rate to that going to be used in source files 5. In real time conversion, set Dither to: None 6. In high quality conversion, set Dither to: None

Notice that all other setting are default

Now you are ready to edit! But remember to only cut and paste or use simple fade in and fade out

Anything more and you are no longer making lossless results

If doing any kind of other work, set sampling rate to 32 bit and high quality conversion dither to shaped

But that does not give lossless results
