receivetheirofficialgradingcertificatedirectfromtheKukkiwonTaekwondoWorldHeadquarters in South Korea! In addition to the tough grading dayitself(noteveryonefromeveryclubpassed)thismarks6monthsofintensework at dedicated Black Belts sessions every Sunday and a lot of extra-curricular work outside the normal class times. This now gives PhoenixTaekwondofulllinesofBlackBeltsinboththeJuniorandSeniorgroups.

Sunday19thNovembersawourWinterclubGradingExaminationfor all Junior and Senior students. The turnout was vast, withover80studentsentering,frombeginnersattemptingtheirfirstbelt tothosegrading for1stKupBlackStripe,makingtheirverylast gradingwith the clubbefore theBlackBeltNationals! Thisgradingwasimmenselytoughespeciallyatthehigher,advancedgrade level and there were a fair number of unsuccessfulcandidates. The examiner was keen to point out that this was

not about the quality of theTaekwondo but essentially the highlevelsetastheadvancedgradesmovetowards Black Belt. Once again theexaminer singled out a select few, asthe highest performers and mostimprovedduringthegrading;awardingGrading Merit Certificates to Emily,EmilyandEmilyplusBen,Oliver,Luke,WilliamandLennon.
