Enable Fixed Asset Solution
• Prior to 9.0 Fixed Assets was available as an add-on.
• Starting with 9.0, the solution merged in to the core of SAP
Business One.
• To Enable the Fixed Asset Solution, go to:
Administration/Company Details. In the Basic Initialization
Tab, select the Enable Fixed Assets Checkbox
• Once the Solution is Activated, you cannot deactivate it.
• Once Activated, Fixed Asset functionality will appear in new
windows:
• Administration/Setup/Financials/Fixed Assets
• Financials/Fixed Assets

Define Fixed Asset Master DataDepreciation Area
• Can use different depreciation areas for showing the value of fixed
assets for a specific purpose (ie: Tax Purposes vs management
accounting values)
• Depreciation Types
• Posting to GL – The area used to post depreciation (normal and special) to
the General Ledger
• Derived Area – Used for information purposes only (normal)
• Additional Area – Use to compare the effects of using different
Depreciation Areas for information purposes only.
