Location and Surroundings

Yang Ming Junior school was born on 1988 July 1. It is on Yang Ming Road and

Yihua Road. There are about 3,000 students in our school. And we have about 150

classrooms. Our school is a big campus, right? We have lots of facilities for teaching

in school and some public facilities for citizens near our school. Let’s get to know

about our school.

We have five buildings in our school including 致真樓, 致美樓, 致善樓, 崇

德樓, and 尚義樓. The buildings set like a Chinese word “日”. Now we are going to

introduce the principal office. It is a place where the principal rests and works. It is at

the third floor of 致美樓. And there is a meeting room outside the principal office.

The teachers often hold a meeting there. Next, we have music classrooms, which

have a TV, a piano and a CD player inside. Besides, we also have science classrooms,

which have a lot of laboratory items including tubes, droppers, graduated cylinder,

beaker and we students usually do physic or scientific experiments.

In addition the rooms for the school work, we have convenience stores where

the students can buy snacks, drinks and stationary there. We also have outdoor

spaces for class. Our school has a big sports field, it is 450 meters a circle and there is

a soccer court inside the sports field. Near the sports field, we have two volleyball

courts and a sports field, and the resident in this community often do exercise here.

Also, we have a badminton court at fifth floor of 致真樓, people can rent it on the

weekend.

In addition to the wonderful surroundings in school, we have a tennis court

near our school, which is called Yang Ming Tennis Court. It can contain 5000 seats in

the middle courts and 650 seats in the second court. There is a big and famous event

called OEC Kaohsiung WTA Challenger. There is a famous player, called 盧彥勳

(Rendy Ru), he is a champion of 2006 tennis game. Also, there is a library near our

school, students can study and read interesting story books. Of course, we have a lot

of snacks shops and tea shops around our school. Another feature of our school is

we have about 25 cram schools near our school and we spend most of the time to

stay there after school.
