El VIII Congreso Latinoamericano de Ingeniería Mecánica (VIII COLIM 2014) tiene como objetivo el difundir las teorías, investigaciones,
experiencias prácticas, avances, y las tendencias en el campo de la ingeniería invitando a profesores, investigadores, estudiantes y
profesionales de la industria. El COLIM (anteriormente COBIM) es el octavo encuentro convocado por la Sociedad Bolivariana de
Ingeniería Mecánica y en esta edición es organizado por la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana del Ecuador. Este es un evento con el cual se
busca promover el desarrollo e innovación tecnológica alrededor de la ingeniería mecánica, fomentando el intercambio de experiencias y la
creación de redes internacionales de conocimiento.

A2. Diseño y concepción de máquinas ycomponentes: Aeronáutica, diseño de
elementos de máquina, maquinaria de
transporte, máquinas herramientas, otras
máquinas, síntesis y análisis de mecanismos -
desarrollo de productos. A3. Fabricación de componentes y máquinas:Control de calidad, ensayos y verificaciones,
CAM, metrología, planificación y control de la
fabricación, procesos de fabricación,
producción industrial - gestión de producción,
sistemas integrados de gestión de calidad. A4. Explotación de máquina: Aspectos
medioambientales, mantenimiento,
reacondicionamiento.
A5. Ingeniería del automóvil: Seguridad,
vehículos eléctricos e híbridos, asistencia en
la conducción, gestión en la industria
automotriz.
A6. Métodos y técnicas para la formación eningeniería: Formación, experiencias de
formación en ingeniería, laboratorios en la
formación del ingeniero.

y estos serán publicados en las memorias del

INSTRUCCIONES PARALOS AUTORES
Los trabajos deben ser enviados en español,
portugués o inglés a través del sitio web
www.colim2014.org la extensión de los
artículos debe ser de un mínimo de 4 páginas
y un máximo de 6, incluyendo figuras y
referencias bibliográficas (ver formato
http://ingenius.ups.edu.ec / ). Solo los artículos
que tengan al menos a uno de sus autores
registrado como participante serán incluidos
en las memorias del congreso que contarán
con registro ISBN. Los treinta mejores
artículos serán sometidos a la revista Ingenius.
Doce artículos presentados en inglés y que
hayan sido seleccionados por el Comité
Científico serán incluidos en el Journal

ubicada al sur de Ecuador que se encuentra a
una altitud de 2.535 m.s.n.m. Tiene un clima
templado, con una temperatura promedio de
17°C. Debido a su “excepcional valor
universal”, Cuenca fue declarada Patrimonio
Cultural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en
1999, cuenta con una amplia oferta hotelera y
existen varios vuelos y transporte terrestre

best papers for presentation in meetings
and they will be published in the
conference proceedings.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
Papers must be sent in Spanish, Portuguese or
English through the website
www.colim2014.org. The extension of articles
should be a minimum of 4 pages and a
maximum of 6, including figures and
references (see a template at http: / /
ingenius.ups.edu.ec /). Only papers that have
at least one of the authors registered as a
participant will be included in the conference
proceedings which will have registration
ISBN. The best thirty articles will be
submitted in Ingenius journal.
Twelve of the papers presented in English and
that have been selected by the Scientific
Committee will be published in the Frontiers
of Mechanical Engineering Journal

PLACE AND TRAVEL INFORMATION
The congress will be held at Universidad
Politécnica Salesiana in Cuenca
www.ups.edu.ec. It is a city located in the
south of Ecuador at an altitude of 2,535 m. It
has a temperate climate, with an average
temperature of 17°C. Due to its "outstanding
universal value", Cuenca was declared a
World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. It
has a wide range of hotels and there are
several flights and ground transportation from

The eighth Latin American Congress of Mechanical Engineering aims to disseminate theory, research, practical experiences, developments,
and trends in the field of engineering, inviting teachers, researchers, students and professionals. The “COLIM in Spanish” (formerly
