Winner!

New Designers ‘One Year On’ Award 2009

The judges were impressed by her psycho-geographical illustrated maps, citing her ‘originality of her artistic process and its application as design; her commercial resourcefulness in holding down a full-time job at the same time as developing her artistic vision and business; building relationships with agents and galleries; and simultaneously developing a range of applications from artworks to prints to a children’s book.’

Lizzie’s current plans include publication of a children’s book with Phosphor Art and continuing to exhibit at the Cynthia Corbett Gallery. In addition to reinvesting her prize monies in her business, she would like to visit Japan. Lizzie’s technique incorporates hand ink, digital colour, crayon and the occasional paint and she develops her work in situ.

The judges said...

‘The Magical Parkhouse Family’, my new book, is in the final stages of editing, and has received good feedback from a variety of publishers.

I am looking to reach a wide audience with my work, spanning many forms of media...

My long term goal is to achieve the media visibility that will enable me to do this.

From

publishing to television.

Thank you!
