Heavy rain caused flooding in the central areas of Ireland. Limerick, Athlone and Carrick onShannon are highly affected. Sandbags were distributed in some of the flood prone areas.The water level is still rising and the peak is expected for 12-13 December.The present map shows the f lood delineation in the area of Limerick (Ireland). The thematiclayer has been derived from post-event satellite image using a semi-automatic approach. Theestimated geometric accuracy is 10 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of thebackground satellite image.
