Transcript of Life in the Puritan Community A view of the daily life and philosophy of the Puritans.

The Puritans believed in simplicity in both

attire and religious ceremony.

Artwork such as these church windows wereabsolutely prohibited!

In this society, any infraction that might

be considered a sin was also a crime

and therefore, justice must be served.

So let me ask you a few questions...

Are you ready?

Have you ever...

played cards?

laughed on a Sunday?

disobeyed your parents?

or my favorite...

sworn at a person or animal?

If you had, and you lived in the

MassachusettesBay Colony, the

authorities would arrest you!

You are going to jail!

(The Devil made you do it!)

Enough from me; now it's your turn...

Your task:

- do some research on the Puritans.

- find some "new" information that was not presented in this slide show.

- construct two slides that present the information.

- make the slides as interesting and attractive as possible (using graphics and color).

- save these slides in your file on the network with the title "Puritan Slides."
