Library Feng Shui

Based on ancient Eastern philosophies, feng shui is a series of guidelines intended to help create a sense of harmony and balance to promote positive energy within your surroundings. The principles can be pretty complex, but I think all of us can agree that we’d love for our libraries to feel more restful and at peace.

A few easy basics for bringing a little feng shui to your library — make sure your back isn't facing the door so you can accept positive energy. Keep your desk neat and tidy and introduce an energizing color like purple. While this may seem surprising, the color black is great for careers and money and can also help promote creativity. Don't forget flowers or houseplants, and include a few personal mementos to connect you to those you love, which will promote an energized, focused mindset while working.
