Become a Lifetime Reader!

There are 3 rules to follow:

1. Respect People

2. Respect Property

3. Respect Resources

Rule No. 1 - Respect People

This means when Mr. Fernandez or Ms. Abranson , another adult or classmate is talking, you don’t.

When you have permission to talk, we are quiet listeners.

Rule No. 2 - Respect Property This means we take good care of books at

Alexander Henderson Elementary School.

First and Second graders can check out one book each time they come to visit the library.

In order to check out another book, you must return the other book you have borrowed during library time.

Rule No. 3 - Respect ResourcesThis means we take good care of our computers, printer, chair & table and use themproperly.

We take good care of ourlibrary books and return them on time.

If books are lost or damaged, the student and his or her family is responsible for paying or replacing for the book.

Make sure to keep your books away from any four legged friends who might chew and in a safe place away from food and water!

Wash your hands before reading a book.

At Henderson Elementary,We “Baby” Our Books!

Books are just as “helpless” as a little baby!

So we need to be careful and loving with them.

When we check out a book from the library, we

are RESPONSIBLE for keeping the

book safe, clean, and dry.

If you were a helpless little baby, would you want someone to drop you or let you get hurt?

If you were a book and someone dropped you, would you want the librarian to let that person take you home?

Books like for us to hold them and read them and love them, as long as we remember to:

BABY OUR BOOKS!

If you were a helpless little book, would you like it if someone forgot you and left you somewhere…like on the playground, at daycare, or at the grocery?

You should always have a

safe place to keep

your books.

We keep our book babies safe from pets who might hurt them.

When we carry a book, we must remember to carry it safely so it won’t fall and get hurt.

Boys and girls are RESPONSIBLE for keeping our books from getting hurt.

Books are happy when we love them and protect them.

Will you remember to “BABY” your book?

Library Time

Your class will come to the library for the library time once every 2 weeks.

DON’T FORGET to bring your library books!
