Vocabulary

•Parallel lines are two lines that lie in the same plane and do not intersect.

• Intersecting lines are lines that cross paths in one place.

• Skew lines are lines that do not lie in the same place. They are NOT parallel and do NOT intersect.

Types of Lines

•Draw two intersecting lines. Then draw a segment that is parallel to one of the intersecting lines.

•Vertical angles – opposite angles formed by two intersecting lines

•Transversal – the line that intersects parallel lines
