On my signal, turn and talk with your partner. Complete the following stem.

Today we are going to be reading the poem My Dog. We will read the poem two times. I want us to look for different things in the poem each time we read. The first time we read, let’s look to see if we can find some rhyming words. The second time we read I want you to look for spaces between words, capital letters and periods.

Let’s think about the three stories we read this week – The Mitten,
