– Dermacentor species (wood / dog tick)• D. variabilis (dog)• D. andersoni (wood)

Females can lay up to 8000 eggs on a leafAdults live for about 1 year

•Scutum is the hard shield found on the back • Covers entire back of males•1/3 of the back in females• Ixodes species (carries Lyme disease)
