Chris Henkel, Accompanist: Organist extraordinaire, Chris received his Bachelor’s in Finance with a minor in Music from Millersville University. He has performed at Summer Arts Festivals for the American Guild of Organists in Lancaster County, and was a runner up in the Violet Cassel Organ Scholarship competition. With nearly 30 years as a church organist (also overseeing the care for those pipes and keyboards), and choral accompanist, Chris is himself a talented vocalist. You’ll often see him sliding from behind the piano to sing with the male tenor voices in Ambler Station Singers.
Jackie Cohen, Accompanist: Sharing keyboard responsibility and often playing four-hand piano with Chris, Jackie is an accomplished musician and entertainer as well. With a Bachelor of Music from Boston University, Jackie has also studied Music Education at Chestnut Hill College, and Four-Hand Piano at Temple University. Some evenings you’ll find Jackie at local restaurants, department stores, theatres and country clubs providing piano music for patrons of those venues. She is also the music director for a local church and gives private piano lessons. She too will often be found sliding from behind the piano to sing with the female alto voices in Ambler Station Singers.

A special thanks goes out to Trinity Episcopal Church and Fr. Emmanuel Williamson for hosting our rehearsals and concerts!
All are invited to attend services here at 8am and 10am Sundays
Director’s Notes Lisa VanHeldorf There is nothing more joyful than putting together a holiday program! The flip side of that is that putting a holiday program together is stressful…very short amount of time to get all the pieces to performance level. It is very demanding of all involved. I want to thank each member of Ambler Station Singers for going above and beyond getting your music prepared and to such a high level. Thank you to our wonderful accompanists Jackie Cohen and Chris Henkel for working so hard and bringing such joy to each rehearsal. Thanks to Duane Quenzal for the accordion wonderland! Thank you to Alanna Battat Rantala for driving from Boston to make music together after all these years! Thank you to the excellent string quartet with us today! Thanks to Trinity Church and its staff for making this concert possible at such a beautiful location. Thanks to my son Jake for singing a duet with me – a dream come true for a mom! And most especially, thanks to the tireless efforts of John Dziel (and Sandi, too!) without which this could not happen. You are appreciated more than you know!
Alanna Battat Rantala holds degrees from University of CA, Davis and New England Conservatory where she studied with renowned pianist Leonard Shure. She has performed in several cities throughout the US, as well as London and Australia. Alanna has been on the faculties of Boston’s Community Music Center, Brookline’s Yamaha Music School, Fitchburg State University, Worcester’s Joy of Music Program, and did vocal accompanying for Holy Cross College. She recorded “Winter Music” by John Cage for MODE
records (1991). Her students have won awards for performance and composition. While living in Northern CA and raising her 2 boys, Alanna maintained a private piano studio and held recitals several times a year. She did freelance performing, including collaborative piano and the US premiere of “Serpents Mecanique” by George Antheil. Alanna enjoys her hobby of composing, and in 2016 she released her first solo CD of original piano music, titled "Recognize", which is available on Spotify, iTunes, etc. She enjoys practicing yoga and traveling.
@m\l_r St[tion Sing_rs would gratefully love to thank our wonderful accompanists, who put up with hours and hours of nonstop work and are
near saint-like for doing so!
Christopher Henkel & Jackie Cohen And our percussionist, who keeps our cylinders in sync,
Scott Berry
