World Volunteering

• Inviting immigrants and asylum seekers to workcamps in Finland

• Organising workshops for locals during the workcamps

• Organising volunteer work days and freetime activities outside workcamps

• Contacting the media

Resources

• Funding from Foreign ministry 7800 EUR (including project co-ordinator 200 h)

• Funding from KVT 800 EUR• Trainee 100 h• Voluntary work 200 h

What happened?

• 1–3 immigrants or asylum seekers on every camp

(21 participants from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Somalia, Sri Lanka and USA)

Future plans

• Bigger and better• School camp• Clearer concept for workshops• More women• More interesting and better organised

working events• More activities outside Helsinki
