o Location: Bank of river Chambal at up stream of “Kota Barage”. Sakatpura, Kota.

o Installed capacity:1240 MW.

o Favorable conditions:Availability of large amount of water.Location at broad gauge Delhi-Mumbai railway.Concentration of load.Constant water supply.Transmission and grid sub station are quit near.

Now coal is transferred toCrushing house and

stored to bunkers

Now coal is fed to Mills Where coal is

Crushed in pulverizedform

Coal is taken to Coal nozzle

In wind box assembly

From nozzle coal Is

discharged to furnace

BOILERBOILERA boiler is a closed vessel in which water under pressure is converted into steam.A boiler is always designed to absorb maximum amount of heat released in process of combustion.This is transferred to the boiler by all the three modes of heat transfer i.e. conduction, convection and radiation.

STEAM TURBINE Turbine is a machine which converts the potential or kinetic energy of the

steam into mechanical power by virtue of dynamic action of steam.

o Steam Turbine used is mainly of three types-:

FIRST STAGE\HIGH PRESSURE TURBINE

SECOND STAGE\INTERMEDIATE TURBINE

THIRD STAGE\LOW PRESSURE TURBINE

DEaRATOR Dearator is a device which is widely used for the removal of air and other gases from the feed water to steam generating boilers. in particular dissolved oxygen in Boiler feed waters will cause serious corrosion damage in steam system by attaching to the walls of metal piping and other metallic equipment and forming oxides.

Electro Static Precipitator

To remove fly ash from flue gases electro static precipitator is used.

They have collection efficiency of over 99.5%. The efficiency depends on various Factors such as velocity of flow, quantity of gas, resistivity of ash, voltage of fields, precipitators etc.

Electrostatic precipitator consists of following parts:-

Casing

Supply system

Emitting electrodes

Collecting electrodes

Wrapping system

Collecting basket

Principle: Electrodes at high voltage create a corona effect(ionized atmosphere) surrounding them. This charges the passingparticles. Once charged, particles are subject to a transverseelectrostatic force that pulls them toward the collecting plates.Plates are periodically rapped (vibrated) to make the collectedparticles fall down into a receiver basket
