Kaunas Palemonas Secondary School

Founded in 1976

There are 561 pupils : 312 boys and 307 girlsAnd 50 teachers: 47 females and 3 males in our school

It is on the outskirts of Kaunas (the second largest city of Lithuania).

It is situated in the territory of Kaunas lagoon regional park.

International projects:

We had three Comenius projects:

“Folklore and cultural traditions in Lithuania and Basque country: myths, legends, songs, dances, sports…” (2004-2005)

“Are we alike or do we differ more”(2004 -2007)

“Radio Teen”(2008 -2010)

Language teaching traditions

Our pupils start learning a foreign language in the second form.

We teach English, German, Russian and Italian.

We organize different language contests not only at our school but in the city too. Every year our students become laureates of Lithuanians translation contest.

Ethno cultural traditions:

We have ethno cultural after school activities

Our school has folklore ensemble “Bitula” and the ensemble of national dances.

We celebrate traditional Lithuanian festivals

Voluntary organization for students from 7 till 12 class. This year there are 27 member in it. Activities aims: 1. Interaction and collaboration training between

organization members.2. To organize after school events for the students at school

(about 12 different events in school year) 3. Helping for school administration in solving different

problems. 4. Communication between this type organizations at

Kaunas Secondary schools and gymnasiums.
