PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Kalori /2
Hi everyone,
Welcome back to Term 2
What a great start we have made to Term 2. Already we have had students attending sporting and cultural events to represent our school. We have voted on our new Student Representative Council for Term 2 and we have developed three new lunch time clubs of dancing, singing and debating.
A huge congratulations to 4/5 Black who wowed us with a huge attendance percentage of 98.9% last week. What a way to start the term! 5/6 Pink are definitely on your heels (96.2%). Let’s see what this week brings!
Seesaw to provide feedback and evidence of learning growthI have enjoyed looking at and commenting on student learning in our new app (SeeSaw) throughout this year. I have seen first drafts, reflections on challenging tasks, proud moments from students, photos and videos of completed learning tasks and feedback from teachers.
I would like to congratulate 3/4 Purple, who wrote fabulous persuasive texts and uploaded them into SeeSaw last week. I really enjoyed reading them and listening to the feedback you received from Mrs Malmo. It was also exciting to see how many parents and students had commented on the learning using this app.
If you have not accessed SeeSaw yet and would like help getting it set up on your phone/tablet, please see your child’s class teacher as they are more than willing to help. It is a pleasure to show families what students have been learning about in class, how they were challenged and how they are growing as learners.
Principals meeting with Secretary, NSW Department of Education Next week (Thursday 16th May), I will attend a meeting with other principals in the area to learn of important issues from Mark Scott, Secretary and Murat Diztar, Deputy Secretary NSW Department of Education. Each year, they presents roadshows across the state to let us know the direction of education in NSW. They also listen to any issues that we have about how to lead and manage schools as effectively as we can. If you have any questions that you would like me to ask in this forum, please let me know before the end of this week.
Calendar of EventsPlease don’t forget to keep an eye on coming events through our newsletters, Facebook, SchoolStream or SeeSaw. It is easy to miss something important if you are not checking regularly. We will always do our best to include information in these four forms of communication.
Have a wonderful week
Tina
