Jugular Venous Pressure

• Position supine with the head elevated 30 degrees

• Side lighting to observe for venous pulsations in the neck

• Identify the highest point of pulsation, using the horizontal line from this point, measure vertically from the sternal angle

• Normal health adult < 4 cm
