A poodle is a dog with curly hair.

straightSomething that is

Some kinds of dogs have long, straight hair.

floppyFloppy means hanging

down loosely.

Hound dogs have floppy ears.

The ears hang down low.

drooledIf an animal drools, it lets

saliva drip out of its mouth.

The Saint Bernard drooled all over the place!

weighedWhen something is

weighed, it is placed on a scale.

A dog can be weighed on a scale. Then the vet knows how heavy the

dog is.

stoodStood means to have a

certain height while standing still.

The children measured the dog. He stood one foot tall.

collarsCollars are leather, metal, or

plastic bands that are put around the necks of

animals.

Collars come in different styles. A collar goes around a dog’s neck.

row A row is a number of people or things arranged in a line.

The dog treats are lined up in a row on the shelf.

Mudge salivated a lot because he drooled.

about a person or thing that make it special.

Short fur is one of Mudge’s characteristics.
