Admissions Steps
Apply Online: Submit your FREE application for admissions at www.jjc.edu
Look up your MyJJC username and create your MyJJC password (Refer to flyer)
MyJJC is where students view information that pertains to them including class schedule, important dates & deadlines and so much more.
Your account is created 24-72 hours after applying to JJC.
Complete the New Student Presentation located in MyJJC (requires MyJJC username and password).
Admissions Steps Continued…
Submit current official *high school transcript or equivalency record (Have transcripts sent to the Admissions Office (1215 Houbolt Rd, Joliet IL, 60431 or admissions@jjc.edu). * These must be on file for appropriate math and science placement.
Complete placement testing and/or submit your eligible scores to the Admissions Office. ACT and SAT scores must be submitted directly from the testing company. (Refer to handout)
SAT 2016 version:
Reading & Writing score of 480-800 places you into English 101
Math score of 530-800 places you into Math 119 or higher
ACT Scores:
English score of 19 places you into English 101
Math score of 22 places you into Math 119 or higher
What are the JJC Placement Tests?
• This is a free, computerized, untimed, proctored test.
• Determines your placement in English, math, foreign language, and other courses and programs.
• The Math test is produced by ALEKS & includes a Learning Module.
• The Reading & Writing tests are produced by Accuplacer.
• Includes multiple-choice testing for Reading and Writing.
• The Reading and Writing are available to be taken twice in a rolling 24-month period.
Apply for Financial Aid
• Fill out the Department of Education’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid form on line at:
www.fafsa.gov• Check your JJC email account – you will be notified of documents needed to
complete your financial aid file. Turn in all documents requested as soon as possible. Check out our website for deadline dates to submit documents.

• Attend a *Group Advising Session & REGISTER for classes!
*Please note: not all students will go to group advising. Specific programs will meet with
faculty advisors instead.
