• Being the first woman to fly nonstop England to Australia and first woman to fly across the south Atlantic

• She won the Harmon Trophy three times from 1935-1937

• She wrote 2 books called alone in the sky, Jean batten: My life

• She was bitten by a dog on the island of Majorca she refused treatment as a result the wound became infected and she died alone in a hotel in Majorca and was buried on the 22 January 1983
