In Wisdom’s right hand is long life; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her and happy are all who hold her fast.

Proverbs 3:16-18

On top of the heightsbeside the way, where the paths meet,

Wisdom takes her stand. She cries out: “To you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men…

Listen, for I will speak noble thingsand the opening of my lips

will reveal right things.

Proverbs 8:1-6

Who among you is

wise and understanding?

Let him show by his good behavior

his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish

ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant

and lie against the truth. James 3:13-18

This “wisdom” is not

that which comes down from above,

but is earthly, natural, demonic.

For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist,

there is disorder and every evil thing.

James 3:13-18

But the wisdom from above

is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,

reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits,

unwavering, without hypocrisy.

And the seed whose fruit is righteousness

is sown in peace by those who make peace.

James 3:13-18
