We live in a cultural wasteland. We have forgotten the joy of creation. We have become

drones. We buy art at Target because it matches the couch and has the same tones as the

wallpaper. We have forgotten what art is. We must try to remember that art is...

There is something beautiful even in the

most unsettling of images and paradigms.

There are other life narratives. We are all

someone else too. We just let others live

that narrative for us because we are

hesitant to leave the self-made prisons we

have constructed so carefully.

The other life narrative is somewhat

autobiographical. I’ve seen everything I

paint. I sense the beauty in the margins.

The game has history. The game has

names long forgotten and names glorified.

The past game has a quiet about it; almost

a haunting. They played the game. They

lived the game. They are gone.

Who was the best? Who was the worst?

Who was the fellow sitting deep in the

bleachers? They had their moment; that

frozen moment in space and time. They

were there. We are here. We become

those who were there before we are gone.

Live in the game. Savor the moment.
