MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of the Firestone High School
Information Technology Program to prepare our students to attain their
highest degree of academic success with an emphasis on
21st Century Skills.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
• A four-year challenging, highly technical, hands-on program.
• Emphasis is on the career concentrations of network systems, information support and services, programming and software development, and interactive media.
• New and emerging developments in information technology basics, applications, and systems.
• Develop enhanced technical skills, academic foundations, communication, leadership, teamwork, ethics, and legal responsibilities.
• Communication skills, problem solving, research, and critical thinking are reinforced in this course.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
• C136 IT 1 Introductory course with computer assisted instruction modules covering the four areas of Information Technology: (1) Programming and Software Development, (2) Interactive Media, (3) Network Systems and (4) Information Support and Services.

• C137 IT 2 Exploratory course with computer assisted instruction modules covering in-depth the Information Technology areas of: Programming and Software Development, and Interactive Media
Open to: 10 Periods: 1 Credits: 1 (year course)Prerequisite: IT 1
• C146 IT 3 Exploratory course with computer assisted instruction modules covering in-depth the Information Technology areas of: Network Systems, and Information Support and Services.
Open to: 11 Periods: 1 Credits: 1 (year course)Prerequisite: IT 2
• C155 IT 4 Senior-level course providing the opportunity for in-depth study of the student’s chosen area of concentration. Interactive Media
