Classification Definitions
RID, Class 1 ID, Class 2 ID, Class 3 ID, ID Uninspected, RIDSH, IDSH, COP and ISH
Registered Irish Draught (RID) - The classification RID refers to purebred horses that were inspected and approved for breeding before harmonization with Ireland and/or before Ireland adopted its new classification system of Class 1, Class 2, etc…. RID(GB) or RID(CA) refer to RID stallions in the IDHS(GB) or IDHSC studbooks, respectively. RID has been retired.
Class 1 Irish Draughts (Class 1 ID) - Horses that since harmonization have been inspected and approved and have met all of the veterinary, x-ray and inspection requirements and were classified as Class 1. Stallions that were approved prior to 2001 were reclassified as Class 1 without x-ray or further inspection. Stallions approved 2001 to 2015 whose owner submitted acceptable x-rays were also reclassified as Class 1.
Class 2 Irish Draught (Class 2 ID) - Horses that have been inspected and approved, and have met all of the veterinary, x-ray and inspection requirements and were classified as Class 2.
Class 3 Irish Draught (Class 3 ID) - Horses that have not met the veterinary requirements.
Irish Draught Uninspected (ID Uninspected) - All purebreds are eligible for entry into the IDHSNA Irish Draught Horse Studbook. Purebreds are in the “Uninspected” class until inspection when they can move into Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3. “Uninspected” is also sometimes referred to as Class 4.
Irish Draught Sport Horse (IDSH) - This is the uninspected classification for Irish Draught Sport Horses in North America. An IDSH must have at least 1/8 Irish Draught blood from an approved source.
Registered Irish Draught Sport Horse (RIDSH) - Horses receive the classification RIDSH after they have been inspected and approved. An RIDSH must have at least ¼ Irish Draught blood from an approved source.
Certificate of Pedigree (COP) - All COP horses are sport horses. Horses receiving this classification were not eligible for standard registration at the time of their recording. These horses can be by or out of unapproved stock. If the Irish Draught or sport horse in their pedigree receives approval, the horse may become eligible for regular registration. Irish Draught heritage must be documented via DNA testing.
Irish Sport Horse (ISH) - ISH is a designation used by Horse Sport Ireland for all sport horses born in Ireland. These horses do not need to have any Irish Draught blood and they do not need to have a documented pedigree.

Banks Fee Daniel is one of the most successful stallions of his type to have stood at stud. His own competition record together with that of his stock, speaks volumes for his posthumous ability to breed top class show and competition horses of all types, from all kinds of mare. All his offspring inherit his wonderful top line and easy trainable disposition. In addition they are all incredibly correct, super looking, and athletic horses.
These are attributes that enable them to successfully function as sport horses in all disciplines. Daniel consistently covered a large number of mares, both in the United Kingdom and the United States, and has some of the best pure and part bred stock to his name. No other stallion can boast two progeny group wins in two different countries. He is grade one NASTA performance tested with the highest mark from a record entry.
A quote from Elwyn Hartley Edwards “Country Illustrated” “Banks Fee Daniel, whose shortness of cannon bone in relation to his height makes him an exceptional example of the type of stallion required to put on a thoroughbred mare in order to breed a horse with good bone.”

Braveheart is by the renowned performance stallion, O'Leary's Irish Diamond out of supreme champion mare Kilbline, a pedigree including the old time greats King of Diamonds, Ben Purple, Pride of Shaunlara, and Glenside.
At 16h and 9 ½ inches of bone, heterozygous grey (produces both non grey and grey), he offers a lovely compact package for purebred mares and substance and bone to produce sport horses when crossed with other breeds. His offspring are proving themselves from being lesson ponies, winning FEH championship, and competing in dressage, jumping, and eventing.
Braveheart has been a great ambassador for the breed, making the trip from Texas to represent at WEG and twice to compete at the Irish Draught National show in Chicago, standing reserve and then champion in the stallion class and winning the dressage, jumpers, hunters, and combined training championships. Always ridden in a snaffle and always barefoot.
For those of you that have met Braveheart you will have seen what a superb temperament this lovely stallion has, to match his superb conformation.

Bridon Glemore is the first RID stallion by Glenlara in the world. Glenlara hasan impeccable record as a performance horse and a proven sire, and Bridon Glenmore is a wonderful representative of his sire. Bridon Glenmore is lovingly referred to as "the world's most famous novice eventer" by his adult amateur rider. "Charlie" has a following wherever he goes and thoroughly enjoys his job. His offspring also are becoming notable eventers and have the same willingness, athleticism and expression as their father.
His dam, Flagmount Belle, was the foundation mare for the Bridon Irish Draught breeding program. She won the IDHS(NA) mare class in 1998 and 1999 as well as being the Reserve Champion Purebred Female both years. Belle only had four foals in her short life, three of which were the IDHS(NA) National Champion Foals and one was the Reserve Champion. Bridon Glenmore was Belle’s last foal. Her other foals have gone on to event successfully and show dressage successfully.
Bridon Glenmore has an outstanding pedigree. Not only does he have all of his father’s influential Irish Draught genes like Pride of Shaunlara and Ben Purple, but his mother brings the Grade A jumper Flagmount King, Laughton and the sought after Atlantic Boy lines into his pedigree. The Pride of Shaunlara/King of Diamonds cross is found in the pedigrees of many successful performance horses in Ireland.

Cyan's pedigree reads as a who's who of top performance and show lines in the Irish Draught breed. His sire, Bridon Belfrey, was bred in the USA but came from top individuals bred in Ireland. Belfrey was shown successfully in the USA, and received his RID status at inspection in 2005.
Cyan's paternal grandsire, Snowford Bellman, was by the great Slievenamon, and out of Flagmount Belle, who was by the great show jumper Flagmount King. Flagmount King sired numerous Grand Prix show jumpers and upper level event horses.
Cyan's Dam, Roma Blue Hawk, was Supreme Champion Irish Draught at the three counties show in Great Britain as a 3 year old, and that same year was Reserve Supreme Champion Irish Draught at the IDHS National Show in GB. As a 4 year old, she won the Broodmare class IDHS National Show in GB. She produced several good foals in the USA, including the stallion Harkaway Lionhawk, before retiring from broodmare duties.
Cyan started his under saddle career as a four year old, and spent the first couple of years hacking the trails around our farm and in our hunt country. He spent a couple of months gaining more formalized training with Becky Holder in the summer of 2018 and now is part of SPF's regular training program with our competition string. Cyan was presented for inspection in September 2018 and received Class 1 status and impressed the judges with his jumping performance.
Cyan's first foals are correct, with good bone and substance; he's stamping them with his incredibly quiet mind, his even tactful movement and powerful jump.

Dandelion Diamond Rebel RID, (aka "Conor") was bred in North America at the Dandelion Farm in Montana and was born May of 2001. With a full 17hh in height with 10 inch bone, Conor passes height and substance to his offspring. Two of his pure bred daughters, Rebel Rose and Emerald Ivy, full sisters, were Grand Champion and Best Purebred, Best Young Stock and Best Female at the IDHSNA Show in 2014. Emerald Ivy was Supreme Champion Purebred at the IDHSNA show in 2015.
Conor has an amazing pedigree - he is the only full bred Irish Draught stallion by the late Rebel Yell. Within the first 3 generations Clonfert, Glenagyle Rebel, Glenside, Sea Crest and Diamond Lad all appear. By the next generation, Legaun Prince, Pride of Shaunlara and King of Diamonds are added. All of these stallions are known for producing jumpers. Glenside was famous for producing marvelous movement as well as great jumping ability, and Conor has inherited both of these qualities.
Sleek, supple, fluid movement and huge jump with a super disposition makes him the perfect sire for your next sporthorse or adding value to any pure bred program. For further information including video of Conor and his offspring please contact us.

Diamond Power is a loyal and life long partner to Michelle Regan since 2001. This stallion demonstrates his genuinely kind character through his eighteen years of production and progress by a novice, now amateur. Although he made few appearances inthe show ring, his willingness, athleticism, movement, and pride were ever present at home and amongst the professional horsemen who observed him.Diamond Power’s sire Rockrimmon Silver Diamond, bred by Patrick Gleeson Limerick, Ireland, is a well-known ID stallion and successful performer in dressage, jumping and eventing. In 1997 Rockrimmon was a finalist in the Royal Dublin Show loose jumping championship. In 1998 he went on to be the only stallion to be fully approved in the 12 week Central Performance Testing with the highest marks of any stallion. He earned a Bronze Merit in both show jumping and eventing and drew much attention with his high scores in dressage.Diamond Power’s dam, Suma’s Poll Tax, bred by Suma Stud, Kilkenny, Ireland was sired by the famous Grade A showjumper Glenagyle Rebel. Suma’s Poll Tax and her dam, The Thatcherite, were recognized with numerous champion and supreme champion titles.Diamond Power’s pertinent and strong performance attributes are his lightness and buoyance in movement, flexibility, and contractibility. He would awe observers with his signature performance of casual trot to four foot fences with rider.Diamond Power remains in active training with his owner and they both hope to show jump again, eyeing the Don Little Masters. In the fall of 2018, Diamond Power was approved as a Class 1 stallion at the age of 19 and earned his Bronze Merit in show jumping at age 20, pinning first at his most recent HITS show. On another note, his required twenty xrays prior to inspection were amazingly stellar. His health history of twenty years replicates that without a single episode of lameness.Diamond Power’s first progeny came last spring. A colt that is superbly stamped by his dad’s dominant attributes. He has a stunning Irish head, ears and eyes and impeccably strong hips, neck and topline. He also has the same lightness and buoyance in movement. Please visit our website, with our Diamond Power logo, and photo gallery to learn more.

Genesee Bouncer has started his training with solid ground work and basic driving lessons. His trainers comment on his athletic ability, willingattitude and overall trainability. He is an agreeable horse and is currently living out 24/7 with another gelding, and growing up as a horse!
His pedigree speaks for itself with both proven producers and unique sires, including Kilmore Heather and Tara through Grange Heather 2. Genesee Bouncer is living up to his breeding as he is athletic with a nice jump and correct conformation. The inspectors complimented him on his good limbs, and shoulder, with a “well set on head and neck.” They also commented on his free, active, and forward movement with plenty of impulsion and light over the ground. Glenlara stood in England, Ireland and the US. In England he was NaSta Performance Tested receiving very high marks in Cross Country, Showjumping, Free jumping, Temperament and Character. He hunted regularly, even having led the field for a season. In Ireland he was Reserve Champion Irish Draught Stallion at the prestigious RDS and bred many mares who would go on to produce approved stallion sons and daughters. In the US, his breeding career extended to produce countless show winners, performance horses and 4 fully approved stallion sons who represent with performance offspring. His four approved sons include Bridon Glenmore, Bridon Glenlord, Kilronan Glenstone, and In Shining Armor.
Glenlara consistently stamped his stock, the sign of a great sire. His purebred foals have good bone and breed traits but are not ‘clunky’ or slow off the ground. His partbreds foals generally add bone and substance to the mare, but still maintain a refined look. He throws an uphill build with an elegant front end and athleticism to spare. He has many offspring and grand-offspring competing in eventing, showjumping, dressage, foxhunting, driving and more in at least 4 countries.

Introducing our Irish Draught Stallion, Jaunty Star, now in Canada. Jaunty Star was imported from Wales in 2006. Jim passed his inspection September 15, 2007 and now is an approved breeding stallion by the Irish Horse Board. Jim is open to the public by fresh semen, can arrange live cover. He has free jumped 3″11. Rebecca Lee from Edmonton, Alberta started Jim's career in 3 day eventing. It was a very successful season for Jim.
His pedigree is a high-powered mixture of both traditional and performance bloodlines. His balanced, well proportioned and upstanding conformation is typical of the middleweight Irish Draught Horses that haveproduced the famous Irish jumpers for years. Jim is standing at 17 hh. Check out his foals on the Sport Horse Page. Jim has obtained his Class 1 with silver merit in eventing by the IHB. He is one of two RID stallions that hold merit for their own performance, Jim is the only stallion with silver merit. He is also the only RID stallion with ranking in eventing with the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH). Jim now has an approved purebred son!
We also have a few of Jim's offspring for sale, including Kiss Me Irish Kate, a 16'3”hh mare started under saddle and has jumped 2'. The second one is Crown Jewel, a 16.3 grey mare, jumps 2’6, confirmed lateral work, super friendly and loves attention. Both mares have that wonderful Irish brain and can have a long period of time off and just get on and go.

Lionwood Kinsale’s Lad (Angus) is a North American bred Class 1 stallion who now stands at stud in Ireland. His unique record - as both a performance horse and an Irish Draught Horse of excellent breed type - speaks for itself.
• Dressage scores in the low 70’s up to Intermediare 1 in the competitive Florida circuit
• Show jumped to 1.25m, also in Florida• US Dressage Federation Performance Certificates up to and in including
Intermediare 1• USDF All Breeds Winner at 4th Level, Prix St George, and Intermediare 1• Numerous Irish Draught Horse Society of North America National Breed Show
wins over the years, from Purebred Youngstock Champion (the Cotter Cup) as a two year old to Overall Dressage Performance Champion
• Horse Sport Ireland recognition as Gold Merit in Dressage and Silver Merit in Showjumping, as well as Irish Sport Horse Studbook approval
In 2016 Angus retired from competition, moved to Ireland, and took up full time stud duties. A filly from his first crop - Ellistown Mayflower out of Ellistown Grey Abbey - was third in a large class of nineteen fillies at the 2017 Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association National Show. Her full brother - Ellistown Monty (pictured at left) - was Champion Irish Draught Foal at the 2018 show. Angus has more than forty progeny on the ground - about half Irish Draught and half Irish Draught Sport Horse - including a handful of mature horses in North America. He consistently stamps his stock with athleticism, substance, and quality, and most especially his outstanding Irish Draught temperament.
Angus' frozen semen was proven with two pregnancies in 2019, both conceiving on the first attempt. Quantities are limited, so priority given to mares with performance record and/or Irish Draught Horse stud book recognition.

Macha Breeze is one of only three approved purebred sons of the famous Grey Macha RID (winner of the Irish Draught Stallion class at the Royal Dublin Society Show in 1985) and is the only Grey Macha son in North America. Macha Breeze was imported to the U.S. after winning the Irish Draught Yearling Colt class and the Munster Joinery Championship at theNational Irish Draught Show in Ireland in 1999. "Mac" is a versatile stallion that is easy to handle and ride. He has successfully competed as adriving, dressage and eventing competition horse. His early dressage trainer Kris Hamilton described him as a "Comfortable, easy to ride horsewho loves to jump anything you put in front of him".
Macha Breeze stands 16.2 hands with 10" of bone. He is an athletic horsewith a lighter build than a traditional Irish Draught making him an excellent cross for a modern Irish Sport Horse while still maintaining the wonderful temperament and bone desired from RID's. Mac’s offspring include Future Event Horse class winners, USDF 2nd Level Freestyle Champion and numerous eventing and field hunter competitors. Mac has a beautiful head and eye, light movement and a very strong top line that consistently shows up in his offspring.

Mac has that awesome presence many people have come to identify with the old traditional Irish Draught Stallions. Beyond that he also has behavior traits that prove horses can actually think. Macs favorite entertainment is to play with a large plastic oil drum as if he were a reincarnated soccer player…. When the barrel hits the fence he hooks his leg over it moves it from the fence and then pushes it flat end until it is out free in the field again before resuming his game. He carries poor riders gamely but rises quickly to match the talents of an experienced performer.
Macs sons and daughters from my experience are all fun horses with big personalities with whom their owners bond. Our personal favorite mounts are both sons and daughters he has produced.

Maggie's Irish Rebel or ‘Dublin’ is an extraordinary animal with the sensitivity and power of a Thoroughbred and the gymnastic ability of a Lipizzaner. Due to the lull in the marketfor horses we have done little to promote Dublin as a stallion but he has to be one of the most athletic horses I have ever known. It is an awesome sight to watch all almost eighteen hands of him volunteering freestyle performances in his paddock on the hill. He is a sweet boy with a big heart whose offspring should excel in both dressage and jumping.

ManuForti's Touch Down RID, better known as Ollie, is a purebred Irish Draught from ManuForti Farms in Kansas. He is bred from the best of the Irish Draught, being a son of the legendary stallion Touch of the Blues RID, and out of a Select Hornby Premium daughter of the outstanding sire of broodmares, Gort Boy RID. Touch of the Blues now has nine Approved RID sons standing all over the world, as well as many other Champion get in several disciplines.
We brought Ollie home as a five-month old weanling in 2004. At his inspection at the age of three in September 2007, he was measured at 16:1-1/2 hands, 1600 pounds, 78" girth, a ten inch cannon and a size five shoe. At six years old in January of 2010, he measured 16:3-1/2 hands, weighing 1650 pounds, with a girth of 86 inches, and his cannons measured at 10-3/4 inches.
Ollie has been a wonderful horse to take to shows and promote our breed with. He loves meeting and greeting new people and is particularly fond of and gentle with children. Ollie is of very traditional Irish Draught type, with a kind and loving disposition, tremendous bone, terrific feet, correct structure, free movement, and a lovely refined head. He is truly a joy to live with!

Moorpark Image carries an exciting combination of old outcross and modern performance bloodlines. His male family has two crosses to Gortlee (pictured at left), through the Gortlee son Carrigbawn Lad. They represent the family of Comet, the first numbered Irish Draught stallion, who was foaled in 1892. In her book The Irish Draught Horse, Alex Fell wrote, “The Comet family....had a profound influence on the modern Irish Draught.” Image is one of only a handful of stallions worldwide to carry the direct male line of Comet.
Image’s dam Rockbarton Beauty is by the King of Diamonds son Flagmount Boy, one of the first stallions performance tested as a show jumper. King of Diamonds, of course, is the founder of a jumping dynasty that includes numerous performance Irish Draughts and world class show jumpers. Rockbarton Beauty also features in the dam lines of Irish Draught stallions Baltydaniel Breeze and the deceased Loguestown Blues Man.
This potent pedigree comes packaged in a 16 hand stallion with clean limbs and quality bone, superb movement and athleticism, and a fine jump - all with a sensible and kind temperament. His pure and part-bred progeny are performing and competing in various disciplines such as eventing, show hunter, and fox hunting - and most important being thoroughly enjoyed by their owners!
Fourwinds Farm is expecting our first Image foals in 2019 and inquiries are welcome. Our mare herd - carefully selected over the last ten years - includes two Irish Draught mares and one Connemara Sport Horse mare. A custom foal can be arranged.

Gabriel is a traditional type stallion, showing the ID temperament mixed with personality. He is built uphill with correct conformation, allowing for very straight movement and a natural ability to use his hindquarters to propel him forward. During work outs he has smooth solid gaits. He is built to last. His feet are strong, never requiring shoes, frogs are large, hoof walls are ½ inch thick and of perfect shape. His athleticism was commended by his inspectors. They also said he has a good attitude and is light of movement for such a heavy boned animal.
Gabriel is by the FEI intermedaire accomplished purebred Irish Draught stallion Steeped In Luck RID out of Ducal State Emblem RID by Attwood Black Laughton RID. Other ancestors include Atlantic Boy, Ginger Dick, Aherlow, Laughton, Colman and Milestone.
Gabe's progeny have consistently shown a kind, inquisitive, smart temperament. They are athletic, have a strong short back and along with powerful hind quarters allowing for a natural hind end engine lifting the front end. Substance from strong large bones and feet allowfor longlasting soundness. Gabe allows your mare to shine through in personality, color and other parts of conformation.

The lack of King of Diamonds and Clover Hill and the very small percentage of Pride of Shaunlara in his pedigree make him an outcross/rare bloodline sire.
He inherited his sire's exceptional temperament, and went through the inspection process as a three-year old in a workmanlike manner. His gaits are correct, but not extravagant, and his jump is more like a hunter than like a jumper. He has the overall comfortable feel of "like riding a couch." He was 15.3 at the time of inspection and is likely to mature around 16.0- 16.1

Regalia Prince Arthur (aka Tristan) is rare in every way with something to offer every breeder. Performance breeders will appreciate his athleticism, and ability to learn quickly. Combined with his temperament which scored a perfect 20 at inspection, his foals promise to be wonderful competitors, companions and riding horses. Purebred breeders will like everything - his rare bloodlines, temperament, and traditional conformation all contained in a smaller size at 15.3. He is fully approved, having passed his inspection and all his foals are eligible for registration.
To top it off, Regalia Prince Arthur is a lovely grey with a red dun base color. Dun is rare in the Irish Draught. Tristan is heterozygousgrey making it possible for foals to inherit just the dun gene without the grey.
Regalia Prince Arthur has been gelded and we have a small supply of frozen semen for this stallion.

Steeped in Luck is an International Grand Prix dressage stallion. He has represented both Canada and United States and has been listed on the FEI World Dressage Ranking list including appearances on the FEI World Cup U.S. National Standings List and the Ranking List for the 2018 World Equestrian Games leading up to the competitions. Steeped in Luck’s first competition year at Dressage at Devon (DAD) saw him compete and placein the Open in-hand stallion class scoring 76% - a decent score given the judge commented on his “short cannons” inferring they were a less desirable attribute for a dressage horse. Of the 15 stallions shown in the in-hand class, Steeped in Luck was the only stallion to go on and compete under saddle at the CDI placing a respectable 12th out of a field of 35.
In 2017, Steeped in Luck qualified to compete in "the" Saturday night GP Freestyle at DAD in the Dixon Oval where he placed 6th and received a score of 70+% from FEI 5* judge Ann Gribbons. The electric DAD atmosphere did not phase the Irish Draught stallion. Soundness of mind and body – 9 years of upper level international dressage competition and no joint injections. True to breed standards –10 inches of bone and winner of the 2007 IDSH-NA Irish Draught Stallion class. Frozen semen quality –surpassed Select Breeders criteria for post-thaw motility. Jack's sire, Tors Gentleman Farmer, was the champion stallion at the Royal Dublin Show in both 2008 and 2011. His sire was also the foal champion at the 1998 IDHSGB Annual Breed Show. Jack followed in hisfootsteps by becoming Champion Foal at the 2004 IDHSNA Annual Show. Foaled April 11, 2004, Jack was already an impressive16.3 hands at his IDHSNA stallion inspection on September 11, 2007 as a 3 year old.
A fully approved Registered Irish Draught stallion, he has excellent conformation, a great temperament, and is a quick learner. Jack is well under saddle and has three lovely gaits. The Irish inspectors indicated that Jack was just the type of stallion needed for the next generation of Registered Irish Draughts.
Foreign Stallions
*These foreign stallions have frozen semen available through agents here in NorthAmerica. The stallions have been inspected and approved through a harmonized
studbook, but have not been entered into the IDHSNA books. Due to this, these stallions are listed as a courtesy to our members. Progeny from these stallions can be registered
with full rights through the IDHSNA*
Purebred HarmonizationWhat It Means and What It Does Not Mean
The original harmonization proposal signed by the IDHSNA refers to harmonization of rules, classifications and inspection procedures. It is not a merging of societies, nor of horses. The IDHSNA is not a satellite of Horse Sport Ireland (HSI). The IDHSNA is an independent society.
The rules for purebred inspection and registration have been harmonized so that the horses bred in North America or their progeny are eligible for inspection and registration in Ireland and GB.It continues to be vitally important that eligible horses, including imported horses, be registered with the IDHSNA. It is not very expensive to register eligible horses with the IDHSNA. Owners of registered horses receive notifications about inspections and the horses are counted in the North American herd. Registration simplifies the process for those horses’ progeny to be registered, and it is a requirement to attend shows (such as the annual show) and to compete for year-end or USDF awards!!
Throughout the years, the IDHSNA has received requests from some horse owners who assume the IDHSNA is a pass-through organization for HSI. But that is not what our harmonization agreement means. When North American owners elect to register their horses with Ireland/HSI only, the IDHSNA is not able to accommodate those horses' inspections. In order to be inspected at an IDHSNA inspection, a horse must be in our registry.
Registrations, memberships, and inspections fund the existence of the IDHSNA and the important work in education and promotion we provide. Thank you for your annualmembership, and for registering and inspecting your Irish Draught or Irish Draught SportHorse.

At the IDHS(GB) stallion inspections in March 2015 the overall comment was “Corrindon Dancer is a well-proportioned Irish Draught horse that stands over plenty of ground. He has three good, powerful and active paces. He showed good technique and scope when jumping” The inspectors at SHB(GB) in spring 2016 were equally impressed with his jumping and athleticism awarding him a PREMIUM.
In November 2015 Dancer achieved his BRONZE merit for Dressage and this autumn, 2016 he is working towards his BRONZE merit for Show Jumping.
His progeny are dominating the Blue Chip Championship and HOYS Heavyweight Hunter classes alike.

In Shining Armor was born, bred and inspected in Canada. 'Thatcher' is conformationally correct with a gorgeous liver chestnut coat, and his greatest attribute is his personality. His temperament has always been phenomenal and he is a willing partner in any endeavor. Thatcher was bred to be an all around family horse, but as he matured I decided he was nice enough to run as a stallion. After he passed his inspection he was shown and campaigned, but unfortunately time and financial constraints limited his career. He was subsequently gelded and has been an incredible partner and a fun horse for the whole family to enjoy. He is picture perfect every ride, even after a long break. He is truly a one in a million horse! He has sired a few foals, and they typically have his strong topline and very curious personality. I have limited frozen semen available.
Please contact me for more information and to see pictures of his foals.

Registered and Approved Irish DraughtSport Horse Stallions
Nice horse! What breed is it?
If you own an Irish Draught (ID) or Irish Draught Sport Horse (IDSH) you probably get that question all the time. And you can respond confidently about the breed and pedigree of your registered horse. That is one of the values of a horse registry and your participation in it. A breeder (in most cases) took the time to complete paperwork including detailed drawings and sometimes microchipping of your special horse. A DNA profile was done to ensure the parentage presented in the paperwork was either true or possible. Voila you know your horse.
You could get another horse of the same breed, or even one related to yours. Or more than one more!
Like other registries, IDHSNA performs this important role. But in addition, IDHSNA is actively involved in the conservation of a rare breed - the Irish Draught. While many major draft breeds have declining populations, in the case of the Irish Draught, one cause of declining numbers is the success of the part bred IDSH! The IDSH is such a popular breed for jumping disciplines that the foundation for that breed, the purebred ID, numbers declined until concerned breeders recognized what was happening and sought to remedy the issue. That work continues to this day.
It is important to register your IDSH to support all the work of the IDHSNA including the conservation of the foundation Irish Draught. So we ask you to take special notice of the stallions in this book who are indicated with the IDHSNA member logo. The owner of the stallion is a current member of IDHSNA and their support of the Society as well as your support of them helps keep this important organization registering, inspecting and promoting Irish Draughts and Irish Draught Sport Horses all over North America!

FNF Torpedo is an approved IDSH. FNF Torpedo is a great example of an Irish Draught Sport Horse. He was approved for breeding in 2002, at the age of three. He is a bold horse with great courage, the perfect combination for an exceptional eventer or jumper. His dressage movements are also excellent. FNF Torpedo's breeding goes back to the extraordinary RID stallion, King of Diamonds. This is a super athletic sport horse who wants to win. We did geld him after his inspection, so he is only available via frozen.

Royale Diamond demonstrates his genuinely kind character through his eighteen years of production and progress by a novice. Although he made few appearances in the show ring, his willingness, athleticism, movement, and pride were ever present athome and amongst the professional horsemen who observed him.Royale Diamond’s sire, Cavalier Royale, remains one of the top Irish Sport Horse sires in history. Described by the indefatigable chronicler of the Irish Horse, NicholasO’Hare, as ‘the most successful Continental stallion to stand in Ireland’. Cavalier Royale has sired numerous international show jumpers and eventers, including progeny that have competed in the World Equestrian Games and the Olympics. Moreover, Cavalier Royale jumped internationally and was a Puissance winner at 7’3”.Royale Diamond’s dam, Diamond Problem ID, was sired by yet another top Irish stallion, Diamond Lad, son of King of Diamonds. Diamond Lad, a purebred Irish Draught, was a prolific sire to many international show jumpers and eventers.Royale Diamond’s pertinent and strong performance attributes are his powerful jump, scope, and impeccable calm and confident mind. He enters any ring and performs with absolute predictability and consistency. His work attitude is solid and his athleticism has never been challenged. He effortlessly schools 1.25m and has not had any professional training. Royale Diamond’s flawless performance and school master attitude highlighted and enhanced the confidence of a novice 18 year old rideras they pinned at numerous rated shows in show jumping. Royale Diamond remains in active training with his owner and they are eyeing the Don Little Masters and LowAmateurs. Royale Diamond’s first & second progeny came in the spring of 2018 & 2019. Both fillies are superbly stamped by their dad’s dominant attributes. Both have the exact calm attitude and confidence, and notable scope and balance with movement. In addition, their conformation replicates his with impeccably strong hips, neck and topline. The strength of the Royale’s genetics are remarkable and repeatable.
