Background

• STDF/PG/350 “Global Phytosanitary Manuals, Standard

Operating Procedures and Training Kits”

• Funded by the STDF contribution of 600 000, to be

implemented by the IPPC Secretariat.

• The aim of the project is to increase the ability of developing

countries to access basic national documentary procedures

for effective implementation of the IPPC and its Standards.

Permanent call for technical resources

• The EWGCD(2011) agreed on to create an inventory of available technical resources in all languages, through a call for resources posted on the IPP directed to all IPPC contracting parties, RPPOs and relevant institutions and organizations.

• As of November 2011, nearly 300 manuals, reports, handbooks, guidelines, links, etc, have been received by the Secretariat.

Procedure to review technical resources

• The EWG developed criteria to categorize/prioritize these.

• The technical resources be proposed in any language

priority given to UN languages.

• IPPC Secretariat to provide the EWG with a priority list of resources to be reviewed.

• Documents not easily accessed to be given priority.

Procedures to review technical resources

• Full documents rather than links be provided.

• Documents reviewed and noted by other SBs (not the CDC) be automatically posted

• IPPC Secretariat to provide the mechanism for reviewing technical resources between meetings.

• Documents on PRAs, bilateral agreements, comprehensive diagnostic resources and pest fact sheets not to be subjected to review by the EWG.

Promotion of the phytosanitary.info

The IPPC encourage all IPPC contracting parties, RPPOs and relevant organizations to:

• contribute with phytosanitary technical resources (in any language).

• to review the data for their countries and update the projects and activities databases regularly.
