As with most common real world categories, there is a misconception associated to them. The categorization of an introvert or extrovert also carries that misconception. The root of some of the workplace issues is the misunderstanding of these issues. Knowing the actual meaning of what it means to be an introvert or an extrovert will not only help in building a better relationship among co-worker but also help in personal awareness and how to handle some workplace interactions. In this presentation, I would like to highlight what I learned about what it means to be an introvert or extrovert and how it has helped me improve my interactions with other like-minded or different-minded people.

Carl Jung established the terms, introvert and extrovert (originally spelled extravert) in the early 20th century. Unfortunately, since then we have mistakenly labeled people as one or the other.

There is no such thing as a pure introvert or extrovert. Such a person would be in a lunatic asylum.
