-During my internship I was assigned to the marketing
department and I was assigned to develop a full fledge
marketing plan for their new C2C website “Bookmart”
-Since the website was not launched I also had to do the
feasibility analysis

Assignment 1: Research and Report writing
-Purpose: To understand the market need regarding certain
product/services and develop software/application accordingly.
-My Role:
-Discussed the main objective, targeted customer and format of the
questionnaire of my supervisor.
-Prepare survey Questionnaire, Filled the questionnaire, interpretation
and analysis of collected data through SPSS, prepare report and submit.
-Relevant course: Business Research Methodology

Assignment 2: Creative Design
-Purpose: To understand the concept of designing and advertising making.
-My Role: I was involved in making web design for JMES
-Lesson learned:
-Different aspect of designing like choosing a color and how corporate
color are used in designing.
-Things to be considered while making logo design and other corporate
design.
-Relevant course: Promotions Management

Assignment 3: Formulation of marketing strategy
-Purpose: To formulate proper marketing mix for Bookmart based on marketing mix.
Product: The right product to satisfy the needs of target customers
Price: The right product offered at the right price
Place: The right product at the right price available in the right place
Promotion: Informing potential customers of the availability of the product, its price
and its place
-My Role: Formulation of marketing mix based on the findings of research done

-Purpose: To analyze the competitor’s strength, weakness and to develop a system
focusing on their weakness.
-My Role:
-To visit different online sites
-Find out their weakness and strength
-Suggest strategy based on strength and weakness of competitors site.

Purpose of the research:
Primary objective:
-The primary objective of study is to find out what are the basic expectations of customers
while deciding to purchase online.
Secondary objective:
-To find out what are the levels of priority the customers give to various features while
deciding the online purchase.
-What influence customers while making online purchase.
-To find whether advertisement influence the customer’s pattern to visit any specific website
and if yes, which medium of advertisement is effective.

Limitations of the research:
-Time Constraint (8 weeks not adequate)
-Research findings based on market of Kathmandu valley
-Chance of response error as the respondents may sometimes
be biased because of lack of awareness/interest and they may
even give false opinions.

-Descriptive research | intended to identify the user of Bookmart which include potential buyer
and seller.
Study population and study place
-Research conducted among the college students
Study period and sample size:
-Research period 6 weeks and the data analysis and report preparation of the findings was
done in 3 weeks.
-Sample Size: 62 respondents
-The sample was collected on the basis of random sampling
Recommendation
-Advertising website is more effective if it is done through web and other
social networking sites like facebook and twitter.
-Online business should maintain its brand equity so that positive word of
mouth spread.
-Unlike other websites, Bookmart should provide aftersales support
-Wise use of promotion mix such as advertising, Public relation, Sales
promotion, direct marketing and personal selling.
-Regular updates will help to increase the user base.
Program Workplace Relationship
-I was able to use many of the skills and knowledge learned
during my academic career.
-Working environment in an organization was very informal
-Courses studied in AIM during my MBA was very helpful
-Courses that were very helpful:-Business Research and Writing Skills - Management Information System-Emerging Concepts in Management - Organization Behavior-Business Communication - Marketing-Strategic Brand management
Conclusion
-The internship period of eight weeks at YIPL gave me an
immense opportunity to learn various skills and grasp the
practical working scenario in the organization.
-This internship not only provided me an opportunity to learn
from the practical field of marketing management but also
helped me to develop my ability to adapt to the requirements of
today’s dynamic business environment.
Conclusion
-Regarding my performance, YIPL was very impressed with my
performance during the internship period.
-I could have delivered more if we were allowed to carry our
internship without any college pressure such as assignments and
presentations.
-I gained a very valuable experience during my internship. I really
appreciate the way YIPL treated me as a valued member and the
appreciation it showed towards my actions.
