A password is a word or phrase that is used to gain access to something.

Remember:

Your password is for you, and only you.

Never use “password”!

Take a word or phrase and replace it with numbers or symbols.

Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is the use of

electronic devices to bully someone.

Remember:

If you are being cyberbullied, tell an

adult!

Don’t cyberbully.

Don’t fight back.

Spam MailSpam mail is a form of commercial advertising.

Remember:

Don’t click on it, no matter how much you want

that “free IPad”.

Delete anything if you think it’s spam.

Block spammers!

VirusesA virus is a piece of code that is capable of

damaging your device.

Remember:

Delete anything that seems suspicious.

Don’t send viruses.

If you think your device has a virus, tell an

adult!

Talking OnlineTalking online is online chatting with your family, friends, etc.

Remember:

Make sure you’re only talking to people you know.

Don’t say mean things online.

Don’t send other people photos without the person that’s in it’s

permission.

Digital FootprintA digital footprint is the information about a

particular person that exists on the Internet.

Remember:

NOTHING is ever deleted!

Leave a good digital footprint.

Don’t search for inappropriate things.

Social MediaSocial Media is websites and apps that enable users to create and share content or

participate in social networking

Remember:

Before getting social media, get permission from a parent of guardian

Be extremely cautious when using social media.

Don’t say mean things on social media.

Terms of AgreementTerms of agreement are rules by which one must

agree to in order to use something.

Remember:

Check with a parent before agreeing.

Always read it thoroughly before agreeing.

Know what you’re agreeing to.

Netiquette

Netiquette is the correct way of communicating on

the Internet.

Remember:

It’s important to have good netiquette!

Be polite online.

Always follow netiquette!

Plagiarism Plagiarism is the practice of taking

other people's work or ideas and

claiming them as their own.

Remember:

Don’t plagiarize!

Cite your work.
